Breakfast Topic: Did you accomplish your Fire Festival goals?

The coming and going of the Midsummer Fire Festival was overshadowed by the arrival of patch 4.2 and the Firelands, but now all the assorted bonfires scattered far and wide have been extinguished, and the flaming torches have all come clattering to the ground. We've danced 'round poles and taken care of danger in Zangarmarsh. Heck, the Ice Stone has melted so many times it's hard to keep track! It was a time for celebration and a time for fun, but like all good holidays, it had to come to an end.
Did you get your hands on that new pet you wanted? Some sweet gear for strutting around town? Did you finished your holiday achievements? If you didn't get what you were seeking, what held you back?

Getting the Scythe of the Frostlord, which I managed, as I got the Meta last year.

Everything except my Frigid Frostling. Perhaps I accidentally melted him with a careless Flame Shock.

I did ahune on 4 toons every day, and managed to get exactly 0 ice chips.
So no, I didnt accomplish my goals. F-U-R-N-G

Two years.
No pet.
One Scythe (on a HUNTER).
*sigh*

sigh. I did Ahune on 2 toons for the first half of the holiday.. then I got sidetracked by hyjal dailies and forgot to queue.. But I got the ice chip on both, when what I reeaally wanted was the staff. But I didn't even see other people get it. At least with the horseman's reins, something I queued for every day he was available on the one toon that was eligible, I at least saw other people get it to show that it was dropping. I did get a cloak for each toon, which was promptly replaced by the purple that was given by the save thrall from the elements quest.

Yap, for once in a festival one of my toons got the lot. Including that scythe thingy, which was nice. Made a lot of gold selling it as, since it was a two-hander, it was as much use to a Rogue as a chocolate tea-pot. And a full set of fire-themed clothing for wearing round town is always nice, 8-)

Honestly this year I didn't have any goals. Well except the "Use the Exp Pole" when I was leveling any toons.

Definitely. ^_^ My night elf fire mage sped all across the world, and did the quests for every single fire out there. Getting the ones in the Horde cities was amusing - oddly enough, it was Silvermoon that gave her the most trouble, because she couldn't fly in. Stupid guards with true sight seeing through Invisibility... Anyway, she's now wearing the title of "the Flame Warden", very appropriate for her spec. Wasn't able to get the dancing fiery draenei brazier, though. Next year.
...but go figure, as soon as she gets what was the best title for her class, patch 4.2 hits and brings an achievement that grants the title "the Flamebreaker." @_@

I had trouble in SMC as most people I am sure. My Mage breezed it - frost nova + blink + invisibility ftw. It was my Shaman who got eaten up to the tune 4 deaths. @ pre flame and 2 post. At one point My corpse didn't exist which prompted a nasty letter to a GM. This was after my first death which fulled my nerd rage. After logging out and letting some steam off I came back and my corpse was actually where it was supposed to be. Even if you could fly in SMC it would have been just as hard as the flame seemed to have 4-8 guards close by. Similarly the Exodar had none. Wowheads guide for some reason had hordies running thru the side where they could aggro about 20 guards along the way as opposed to going thru the front door where you can aggro and lose 2 guards on the ramp down and aggro 2 more at the bottom. Must have been written by a rogue or someone going by last years 12k health point guards :P

Yep, got pretty much everything, also got the meta on two of my characters this year. I don't know what it is about flying around Azeroth and Outland for hours on end, but it was definitely a very relaxing and fun two weeks.

Got the pet on all toons that could do it.
Got the scythe on my mage, though its inutility was made up for by my having won him the nice boe spell sword from BWD.
Actually, got two scythes on him. Yay, disenchant!
But what just kills me is I noticed that my hunter could've gotten the Meta. He's still only 80, but he got Ahune last year. The problem was I noticed this on Monday the 4th, right before dinner, after which I had a raid scheduled. Le sigh.

I would have my second proto on my hunter if I would have realized all he needed was the lunar fest meta. Ah well. Soon.
puffcake Jul 11th 2011 8:22AM
I wanted a Frigid Frostling, since I need every pet I can possibly get for Littlest Pet Shop. With currently available and obtainable pets, it's gonna take 4 years of Children's Week anyway, so I guess I can wait another year. I did get the meta and title though :)
Mortenebra Jul 11th 2011 8:44AM
Ditto on this. No pet, completely bust. Oh well, back to farming mobs for ultra-rare pet drops and hunting dinosaur nests. /sigh
HunterTure Jul 11th 2011 8:23AM
Aren't you about a week late in asking this?
Mordok Jul 11th 2011 11:30AM
At least they were nice enough to ask.
Jbutler15809 Jul 11th 2011 8:29AM
I did not and now I have to wait another year... unless that time machine I ordered in the mail delivers >.>
Annalietta Jul 11th 2011 8:46AM
Yes and no.
Yes:
My destro lock is now Flame Warden.
No:
I still need the pet to drop for my pet-collecting main. No luck for 3 years so far...
Narlic Jul 11th 2011 10:18AM
Same situation here. Never had a pet drop from Ahune on my main, despite killing him every day.
s0fa_king Jul 11th 2011 8:46AM
I got the Flame Keeper title for my shaman, which seems only fitting. I didn't level alts via fires though, because I've been laid low by an awful summer cold and haven't been playing much.
