Breakfast Topic: What's that one quirky thing you just have to do?

We all have at least one -- one thing we do that everyone gives us a slightly weird look and a cocked eyebrow for doing. Well ... all right, maybe a few more weird things than that. But there's that one thing we do that just makes sense to us, and we have to defend ourselves for it every time someone finds us out.
For me? I hearth to Darnassus. Yes, before you ask, I do have a love affair with night elves; however, that's not the reason. When I first started playing WoW (and Cutaia can vouch for this), I always found myself around Darkshore. For a good year or so, I never really did any leveling; I stayed around level 15 and stuck around the Darkshore area. Being so close to Darnassus meant I was in the city all the time. I figured out where everything was, and I liked the atmosphere.
Now, I'm level 85. Sure, I teleport to Stormwind when it's necessary, and I know where everything is now ... but I still have my hearth set to Darnassus. I tell people now that it's for my frame rate on my laptop, but it's still more comfortable for me. You can bet with cooking and fishing dailies added in 4.1 that you'll be seeing me in Darnassus quite a bit more.
What's your weird WoW quirk that you actually have a reason for doing? No judgements here.

I prefer to level instead of queue in dungeons and PvP for leveling purposes. It seems everyone who actually levels anymore doesn't seem to be a majority.

I totally meant "leveling in the wilderness."

I'm totally with you on that, the only time I enter a dungeon while levelling is to finish up some quests and I don't ever enter a BG.

Same here.
I also read all my quest text, or if my boyfriend and I are playing together, take turns reading it out loud in some voice or another.

I just became Professor on a second character (yes I'm insane). When I get a Tol'vir dig in the sandy areas, somewhere that doesn't have a lot of aggressive creatures, I don't mount up and fly when I get a red dig indicator. I'll walk, and enjoy the sand blowing over the cobblestones.

i dont get funny looks, but for some reason all my toons need a swift frostsabre.

Hehe, looks like you've got quick a backlog of Seed'd Breakfast Topics, this one looks like it was written before 3.1.

On topic however, The Explorer title, got it on all 7 of my 85s.

I totally agree. The editors should have removed all the pre-3.1 references, like being 85, and the Darnassus cooking / fishing dailies introduced in patch 4.1.

The "teleport to Stormwind" thing made me wonder at first, too...until I realized s/he's probably a mage.

I always move out from under falling bosses, or any large mobs.
ugoticedbro Jul 12th 2011 8:58AM
I do this too. I'm not a fan of things falling on me!
kaosgrace Jul 12th 2011 9:05AM
I think I do this too without thinking about it. Actually, I tend to move out from under mobs even if they're not falling. I don't like large hostile things in my personal space.
Rubitard Jul 12th 2011 10:08AM
Whenever a really large mob falls, I jump the second it hits. It's like the ground shakes my toon skyward. Ahh, it's the simple pleasures in life.
Tygerwolfe Jul 12th 2011 11:30AM
I do that, too! :P And if I don't get out in time (being a hunter), I sometimes feign death. Got a cool screenshot once of my bottom half sticking out from under a dead mob - the urge to hum the Wicked Witch of the West's theme was strong. :P

I think my main wow quirk is walking into the cathedral of light in Stormwind and kneeling. I am not to sure why I do it, but it just feels right being a Paladin and all.

On alts that I'm leveling, when I log out, I always have to park them at least in a chair, and preferably in a bed. (Generally speaking, the bed can't have an NPC in it or standing in the room.) If I don't, I feel guilty for leaving them standing there all night.
Oddly, I don't feel the need to do this on my max-level characters or my bank alts.
Revnah Jul 12th 2011 8:18AM
Haha, check it out, we posted practically the same thing at the same time :-) Although I also do this with my max level characters!
dubiety13 Jul 12th 2011 12:53PM
LOL when my boyfriend and I level alts together, we always do this... Pre-Cata, we also used to go up to the tower in Dalaran (I forget the name, but the one that requires the book to port up there) and tuck our toons into the big double bed there...
Revnah Jul 12th 2011 8:17AM
Before I log out, I always look for an inn - preferably a "proper" one with beds or hammocks - and then either sit down or when there's beds, lie down in bed. Sometimes it takes a bit of moving around before my character gets to "sleep" in exactly the right place on the bed. And then I log.
If I had one wish of the developers, it would be that we log into the same position we logged out in. Sadly, every time I log in, my character stands on the bed...
