-
Unstable Magmas are now gaining energy properly from the Flamewaker Animators.

- Living Meteors will gain the Living Meteor Transform buff once frozen in the Breadth of Frost trap, even if a meteor is knocked into it.
- If a Living Meteor's fixated target drops aggro via Feign Death, the meteor will target the pet, and then select a new non-pet target upon which to fixate.
- Ragnaros now enrages after 18 minutes in all raid difficulties and sizes, up from 15 minutes.
-
Alysrazor
Hyjal Regrowth & Molten Front
- Wounded Hyjal Defenders should no longer sometimes spawn in with full health and in a standing position when players are on the quest Burn Victims.
- Molten Lords no longer become tapped by the first player who attacks them with any of the Trained Fire Hawk's abilities while on the quest Fire in the Skies, allowing for any player who dealt damage to the Molten Lord to gain quest credit upon its death.
- Windcallers now respawn within 1 minute on average for the quest Into the Fire when both are rendered inactive. Additionally, players will only experience a maximum of approximately 75 seconds of a delay before they are able to initiate the escort event.

OK maybe I missed something but what does a vanity pet have to do with a combat pet? What was happening when the vanity pet was out and the combat pet was on defensive?
kia Jul 12th 2011 11:27PM
been wondering the same thing. there have been a lot of hiccups with pets since 4.2 went live (thanks to the coding required to change aggressive stance to assist stance no doubt), but this one I had not noticed. I do run with a non-combat pet out most of the time when I'm playing my lock.
Ronin Jul 12th 2011 11:38PM
Yeah, this one is just begging for an explanation.

I hadn't noticed it until it stopped happening. My hunter would have her cat and wintersaber cub out, and my cat had previously attacked as if it were on assist, until today when it stopped doing so and I realized it was on defensive and not on assist like I thought it was/wanted it to be.
I thought that I somehow had turned on defensive stance instead of assist. Guess it was a wonky little bug that somehow made vanity pets...make combat pets not be on their correct stance? I have no idea how that coding managed to interact but I'm also not shocked about it either!

See, now, I'm a bit confused about this. Previously I just had my Unholy DK's ghoul on Defensive all the time, and he simply behaved as he did before the stance change; everything was fine there. But then I decided to try Assist stance...and then he started attacking enemies I targetted but hadn't attacked yet, so switched it back. Now what? Will I have to manually order him to attack each new target, or was the previous behavior just a bug in Assist stance?

Thats easy. If you had a vanity pet out (or a haunted memento, or an innkeepers daughter) then the new pet logic didnt work. pets were still following the old logic.
How is this possible? I dont know. But the new pet stances have not functioned consistently since they rolled them out, and now blizzard has fixed it.

Being able to share those big quest mobs without being grouped is the best thing ever. I don't care if some people just throw a dot and file their nails while others fight, it's still awesome.
Dankie Jul 12th 2011 11:35PM
would have been nice if they fixed the tab-target bug for melee.... -_-
Angus Jul 13th 2011 1:25AM
seriously.
Getting sick of it, a lot.
fbp Jul 13th 2011 1:45AM
Explain?
Calenhad Jul 13th 2011 2:49PM
If you are talking about the one when you hit tab and target a dead mob, then yes, it sucks :(
Jabadabadana Jul 13th 2011 2:43AM
Tab targeting is kinda busted at the moment. At least if you are running sticky targeting, when a target you are targeting dies, you will have serious issues re-targeting a new target. The game keep re-targeting you to a corpse, and tab target won't get you off of it. It will sometimes stay targeted on a living target as well, and when you tab target off, it will revert you to your previous target.
This is made more annoying by the fact that when you are tanking, being hit while targeting a dead mob, no longer un-targets the dead mob.

Unfortunately, it appears that the tab-target bug will not be a quick fix. Blue post from MMO:
>Our programmers and QA analysts are working on this. There are actually a few unique targeting issues which are all documented and being investigated independently, as they're technically unrelated.
>>07/12/2011 05:46 PMPosted by Cheesus
>>If it was a bug that somehow benefited players it'd have been hotfixed immediately yet here we are 3 weeks later without a word on an ETA for a fix for it.
>It has very little to do with bug priorities, or our willingness to fix what you think we think isn't a big deal. Each bug entered into the system is a unique case and requires any number of verification methods. The process for properly identifying and addressing a bug is no more or less important depending on the type/severity of the bug.
>It's also worth keeping in mind that some bugs can be addressed via a hotfix fairly easily, while others cannot be fixed without releasing a client patch. And no matter how minor the patch, building and releasing it globally is still a major logistical undertaking.
>The issue specifically with targeting dead targets will require a client-side patch to address.

I literally grit my teeth on scorpion pulls in the FL atm ... it's hard to see what's going on and as a rogue, it's chaotic in the scrum.
Dankie Jul 13th 2011 11:49AM
Just to clarify, I don't use sticky targeting and it still bugs out with large groups. D: distressing!
Lolz Jul 12th 2011 11:44PM
so that explains why my felguard was waiting a bit longer to attack >.>
gewalt Jul 13th 2011 1:03AM
actually, no. this fix is only to make defensive stance do less.
Kyol Jul 13th 2011 12:37AM
Wait, the wounded defenders didn't _always_ spawn with full health before taking their damage and falling down? SHENANIGANS!
Saeadame Jul 13th 2011 1:17AM
"Wounded Hyjal Defenders should no longer sometimes spawn in with full health and in a standing position when players are on the quest Burn Victims."
Yaaay that was really annoying. And yeah, that quest is mega easy for me as a druid, but all the others are 10x harder b/c I have to do dailies as resto (no dps spec+pvp crap=doing dailies as resto in PvP gear=very slow, except for this quest).
daan.leijen Jul 13th 2011 3:31AM
holydin in PvE gear. i feel your pain. Exorcism spam ftw right?
dj.clayden Jul 13th 2011 5:26AM
Holy Radiance + Charger + Crusader Aura, much? My guildies beg me to group with them for the Burn Victims quest ^_^
