WoW Insider's Weekly Webcomic: Safe Passage
Welcome to another edition of WoW Insider's Weekly Comic, Safe Passage.
Some would call it cheating, and some would call it, well ... I'm not sure what they would call it. But don't worry. When you think about it, it'll still work.
Check out the full comic right here, and tune in next Tuesday morning for a new page. You can also see all the previous pages in the gallery below.

I wish I had an epic flute solo when I summoned MY flying mounts.

This week's comic is just gorgeous. I love the hippogryph!
Parrin Jul 12th 2011 9:54AM
Quick! Kill it, and grab it's claw!
Parrin Jul 12th 2011 9:54AM
What? It's got a quest...
STHedgeHog Jul 12th 2011 9:55AM
Nice Hippogryph. The look on their faces makes me think its on the big side too :)
Accipeter Jul 12th 2011 9:57AM
So....couldn't they have just used the hippogryph to fly over to Fort Triumph in the first place, then, instead of trekking by foot? I don't get it.
*confused*
Malozing Jul 12th 2011 10:10AM
Do YOU wanna carry all of them to the Fort? With all of the group sitting on the hippogryph, the poor thing's back would break.
I love the expressions on the kids' faces :)
thebitterfig Jul 12th 2011 11:29AM
Well, Enarrai could have flown just the kids to the fort, saving Mig and Ash the indignity of being captured and all. Or maybe there are things in the barrens which would have shot them down. Windserpents or such. However, the needs of plot trump all, so...
Elwoods Jul 12th 2011 11:32AM
Looks its not like there are giant Eagles that could have flown the ring there .....
errr wrong story!
Amaxe Jul 12th 2011 12:03PM
Yeah, it is a plot hole like the eagles and mount doom, but what the heck, it's all in good fun here and it doesn't bother me any.
;-)
Accipeter Jul 12th 2011 12:09PM
Yes, I mean, surely the hippogryph could have carried Ennarai and the girls. Then Mig and Ash would have been spared all that they went through. They could have returned to the Crossroads instead.
I dunno, I mean, yeah, the hippogryph is cool and all, but I hope we get an explanation for why the heck Enarrai didn't just use it in the first place and save everybody all that grief. Otherwise, and I mean no offense by this, it just seems kinda nonsensical. I hate big, illogical plot holes. And I know that Kelly and the fella who writes the strip are far better storytellers than that, so I sure hope there will be a good reason forthcoming.
Ktok Jul 12th 2011 12:53PM
You'll see. But for now let's just say sometimes the journey is more fun when you don't take the obvious path.
MusedMoose Jul 12th 2011 7:32PM
Because then the comic would have been 20 pages or so, at the most, and what fun would that be? ^_^
thebitterfig Jul 12th 2011 11:31AM
Hippogryphs were pretty much always my favorite flying mounts... Too bad they're as frustrating to get as they are. Argent Tourney isn't *that* bad, and I bet the rep runs for Cenarion aren't too bad anymore, but they sure are lovely flyers.
Thomas Higgins Jul 12th 2011 11:58AM
Oh, thanks for reminding me, mate. My Rogue got Exalted with both the Cenarion Expedition and Cenarion Circle, so is eligible to get his Hippogryph, but I just haven't been able to find the time to pick it up.
Next on the agenda - Netherdrake, 8-)
Amaxe Jul 12th 2011 12:06PM
Yeah the Cenarion mount is my main's choice.
Ylspeth Jul 12th 2011 11:39AM
What awesome artwork!
I love the expressions on the children's faces. :)
I don't think it's cheating at all. It makes perfect sense.
Flying mounts are everywhere in Azeroth. Players use them to get from place to place all the time. In circumstances like this, why wouldn't someone summon their mount and get the "heck outa Dodge."
BTW... This is the second strip you have done that has tempted me to attempt coloring in Photoshop.
(The first was the strip when the girls were told their father was dead.)
Ylspeth Jul 12th 2011 5:44PM
Here is the result of my first real attempt to color a comic. Kelly, you inspired me. I hope you like it.

AMG how pretty!! :D I love it!
blissfire Jul 13th 2011 10:16AM
That was my first thought when I saw this installment, too. "Man, I wish I had any skill in Photoshop. I would be ALL OVER colouring in that hippogryph." Gorgeous. =D
