The Daily Quest: Making good points
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Hands up if this clip brought about a wash of nostalgia. The Point was a movie I saw multiple times when I was a kid -- and each time, it had a different narrator, oddly enough. Looking back on the film's history, it seems that the first narrator was actually Dustin Hoffman, of all people. Regardless, the weird little movie had a point about points and pointedly made them, even if it was in a roundabout sort of way.
Speaking of points, today we've got some good points made around the blogosphere about ... well, points.
Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Just leave us a comment, and you may see it here tomorrow! Be sure to check out our WoW Resources Guide for more WoW-related sites.

- Kurn's Corner makes a few points about the valor point cap and the Zandalar heroics.
- Jaded Alt follows up by pointedly questioning how important it is to hit that valor point cap.
- The Stories of O points out that it isn't exactly that hard to make that point cap every week.

Ahh, The Point - It was released the year I was born.
I love watching animation from my childhood - everything was like The Point or Hanna-Barbera style. It made it look like every animator was tripping on acid or eating too many Froot Loops (which they probably were)

Kurn's Corner makes several excellent points.

Ugh "The Point" - I fully remember finding this cartoon very strange and traumatizing when I was a small child - had totally forgotten what it was called, so thanks for reminding me and the nightmares that I'm sure will ensue from it :P

stupid regrowth/molten front dailies take too long. they are messing up my ability to get 4 toons valor capped every week.
so do I choose 365s over 378s? no. I dont think I will.

This soundtrack is still one of the best things of all time.

I love the argument of "I don't have time to cap my VP!"
My guess is that most people have the time, they're just too lazy to do so. Or they put it off until the last second and then throw up their hands and say "screw it!" when they can't grind out 980 VP in 5 hours.
imho, if you're on a raid team then you should cap your valor or at least come damn near close otherwise you're holding your team back.

Interesting. Lazy? Really?
I generally have about 4 5-hour sessions available per week for me to game.
Perhaps it's just the runs I've been in, but the typical Zandalari heroic I've been in has taken 2.5+ hours. Mathematically, I could (with luck) squeeze 8 of them into the time available. Realistically, I could fit 4 of them in, but not 7. And at that, they would dominate my play time.
I'll assume you'll excuse me for not running a heroic if the guild is, for instance, killing firelands trash for rep and epics. But that time comes at the expense of one of those Zandalari instance runs you want me to run all the time.
Another thing I spend time on is fishing for feasts. The guild benefits directly - I'm one of the few feast providers we've got. How about the "opening up the firelands questing areas"? No gear out of there? I kinda thought that there was, though. An argument can be made, though, that those can be squeezed around the primary goal of "run another zandalari heroic".
What's that? You're saying I'm not putting enough time in to *really* raid? You may well be right. If you're really saying "you're not putting in enough time to raid *with my group*" then I'll take your word for it.
But I don't really think that lazy is the right word to use for those of us who don't have time to optimize our valor point gain.

Really? Yet another whine-fest on Blizzard catering to casuals?
Maybe next week we can get some pearls of wisdom about:
-- BTPNTC is killing the game!
-- The Hybrid Tax is not fair!
-- How hard could it be to separate PVE and PVP spells? Srsly Blizz, it's just a simple code change...
-- FIX VANISH!

It just so happens that whenever I check out a new-to-me blog via The Daily Quest, the author's whining about "casuals". Maybe if I stop reading The Daily Quest, the bloggers won't engage in this kind of BS...
