Patch 4.2 hotfixes for July 14

Another night, another round of hotfixes for patch 4.2. Today's list, posted to the official Warcraft blog, is pretty short -- but it includes some tweaks to heroic encounters in the new Firelands raid. Also included are a welcome fix to those players doing dailies out in the Molten Front and a tweak for those seeking the new legendary weapon.
- In Firelands, Rhyolith's Concussive Stomp damage has been increased on heroic difficulty.
- In the heroic Ragnaros encounter, Molten Elemental move speed has been decreased by 15% on heroic difficulty -- but the adjustment will require a realm restart to take effect.
- Players working on the Peaked Interest quest should no longer experience issues when the Fire Hawk Carry Egg Ping spell is cast.
Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

Autocrit during Face Rage? Did people have problems getting him off?
Revanel Jul 14th 2011 11:58PM
That's just a sex joke waiting to happen...

Not if you get a string of lucky crits, then its all over prematurely!
Ilmyrn Jul 15th 2011 11:25AM
So glad to see this. Last time we were in there we lost a healer to Face Rage through sheer bad luck. All the DPSers on him, and no crits, or at least no crits large enough to do the trick. As a Ret Paladin, I dumped an AoW Exo, two TVs, and a CS into him without a single crit.
Some RNG is fine, but when it's a case of 'Get lucky or die', I think Blizz made the right choice here.

"Successful attacks on Rageface will now always be critical strikes while he is channeling Face Rage."
That seems really big. Shannox should go down a lot more reliably for those who were struggling.

last night we got him down to 2% then to 0.6%... had some trouble sleeping...

The issue was that some comps have a hard time coming up with a 30k hit. The group for my last attempt had 3 dual wielders... coming up with that 30k hit was pretty tough if Rageface didn't have the immolation trap debuff.

I'm waiting for the hotfix "you no longer lose your tabard buff after zoning into the Molten Front".
VioletArrows Jul 15th 2011 2:51AM
*laments all that lost guild reputation*
Annalietta Jul 15th 2011 3:07AM
I'll go for a "You can now use tab-target in melee"-hotfix. Sooooo tired of attacking corpses.
Avan Jul 15th 2011 7:24AM
@Annalietta
That's not something they can hotfix.
Cataca Jul 15th 2011 9:18AM
I think it was back in Burning Crusade that they implemented a change similar to "tab will now prefer live targets over dead ones" and it seems that has been reverted or broken.
Farnoth Jul 15th 2011 9:25AM
@Avan;
They already have it implemented for people taking damage - switch to next hostile target. It wouldn't be hard for them to just add that to DPS with no target, I'd think.
Vector Jul 15th 2011 12:58AM
Wow, that's a mega-Ryolith nerf. So much for any challenge there.
Rawralot Jul 15th 2011 1:22AM
It's good they nerfed Occu'thar, his eyes were ridiculous for a PUG to deal with, not due to difficulty but the amount of gear and AOE power required from random groups.
jacksworth Jul 15th 2011 2:59AM
...
?
i thought he was too easy. needs a buff if anything
Mitch_b_666 Jul 15th 2011 7:01AM
Agreed, a buff seemed like the only way to go. People just need to learn you can't just take the first person who sticks their hand up anymore these days. Been with just two AoE abilities, they get killed just fine, from experience.
Aalokor Jul 15th 2011 7:16AM
He seemed pretty easy, though it's possible it's because my main pve spec these days is demonology. I could probably solo the eyes as long as everyone groups up
Mycroft Jul 15th 2011 7:48AM
Yeah, I pugged him yesterday on 25, with 6 healers of all things. We got the eyes down easy. With so many other healers, as a resto druid, I even helped with mushrooms and hurricane, as hardly anybody dipped low on health that wasn't immediately filled to full again.
Thiron Jul 15th 2011 2:19AM
Oh come on, Occu'thar was ok!
Just take 2 healers on 10-man instead of 3, and you'll have enough dps to easily down the eyes.
Well, ok, FF soon after the eyes was nasty. But at least you knew it was coming.
