The Queue: At least I've got video
That video is in response to yesterday's Queue.
Also, it is relatively bad ass and is probably something none of us can do.
Cyrromatic asked:
What happened to Arthas's body? Can't imagine it laying in front of Bolvar forever.
Scourge ate it.
(In all honesty, we don't know. It's probably in a mausoleum someplace at the Icecrown Citadel.)
Gimp asked:
When you make a new toon you get pets in the mail, like the blizzcon and the collectors edidion pets.
I often make alts way before I start playing them, mainly to get the full rested bonus. On my last alt, I never did collect the pets from the mail and the mail disappeared after 30 days, is there any other way of getting them back?
Talk with a GM. That's the only way I've heard to get those types of mounts and noncombat pets back. Some of them might be BoA, as well, so if you make another character, you can transfer them the toon you want.
Mik3st3r asked:
I thought that MMO-Champion had found some coding indicating that heirloom pants would come in 4.2. Was this idea scrapped?
MMO-C found them via datamining, which means only that some of the values were in the game files. It doesn't mean that the pants will make it into the actual game. That's why you take datamining with a grain of salt; it's only a little better than reading tea leaves.
And no, before people get all cranky, I'm not saying MMO-C is a bad site or anything. Hell, I go there often. I am saying you should listen to the warning that everyone says about datamining and not assume just because you see it that it will become a reality.

If memory serves, datamining sites like MMO-C have found entire zones, instances, etc in the game files that either never made it live or sat unused through entire patches or even expansions. (I forget which instances/zones.) Just because something in there doesn't mean it's going to make it live in the upcoming patch.

The emerald dream was one that I know of.

moreover, when they datamined the tanking heriloom pants from 4.2 files they included a specific note on the main page saying they didn't think they'd make it in game, as all the other heriloom sets also have pants in the game files that aren't in game.

THey found the Celestial Dragon pet - the one you get for having 150 pets - over a year ago. Blizz adds all sorts of things into game files they dont' intend on using immediately.

I wonder if that means we'll be getting heirloom pants in the next expansion or as a guild perk at level 30 or something like that. Assuming they're even going to use them.

I remember back in Wrath they found (or people using the site posted about) these weird spider mobs. Some were more mite-like than spiders and had fat bodies, but others were just regular spiders but hanging upside down. At the time that mob style wasn't used (I think the spiders in ICC came down but it was different than them just hanging there).
Of course, now we see what they were for! Beth'tilac and all her buddies!

"But [dataminers] found this stuff in 4.2 data files, why isn't it released?"
"But why can't I run T11 raids to gather T12 points?"
"But why do I have to do dailies? 4.2 is so boring."
Every patch, the same questions reappear...

There's tons of stuff hidden in the game files as such. There's also tons of movies available online that show it off, such as the Emerald Dream (which has been in the game almost since Launch) and the original Outland / Hellfire Peninsula (most of which was reused in Burning Crusade).
For six years, there were multitudes of places that existed on Live servers that were covered up by the ever-present mountains that seperated zones. Twilight Highlands used to be a mish-mash of multi-colored terrain and crazy hills and valleys that went on for miles. One could stand atop it and look down on Grim Batol from above.
Hyjal is a shining example. It was there for the entire time leading up to Cata, at about 90% completion. It only needed quests and mobs added to it. If you study the original zone terrain for Hyjal using either map viewer, a Hunter or Shaman with "Far Sight / Eagle Eye" or via a private server, you'll see that Blizzard changed very little in the zone itself, with the majority of changes being done in Darkwhisper Gorge.
Point is, WoW has always been full of things that were planned, then scrapped. Or maybe they weren't really scrapped at all, maybe it's all been planned since the beginning, and that stuff was just partially done and not ready yet.

Dataminecraft?
Daedalus Jul 14th 2011 1:26PM
That's all well and good until the creepers show up.
Next thing you know, it's SSsssssssSSSSSsssSSSSSSssBOOM and MMO-C's littered with chunks of half-implemented quests, placeholder names, and never to be seen weapons.
woshiernog Jul 14th 2011 9:04PM
@Daedalus
When you're searching for some data and you behind you creeps a hata,
do the creep, Ssssssssssss
do the creep, BOOM!

flamewakers and naga look similar. and naga are corrupted transformed night elves made by the old gods. and flamewakers are servants of Ragnaros who's also a servant of the old gods....any connection?

If you look at Elemental models, many (if not all - I can't check right now) sport three fingers. Trolls and Tauren are the only player models that sport three fingers, and their origins are still fairly murky. What we do know is that they predate the current version of Azeroth...i.e. when the Elementals ruled.
mike Jul 14th 2011 11:30AM
Doubtful, as naga are humanoid and flamewalkers are elemental (I think) what is VERY interesting is that a night elf corrupted by old gods gives you naga, but a NE corrupted by the burning leigon/fel energies gives you a Satyr who can actually be redeemed back to an elf!
Deathknighty Jul 14th 2011 11:56AM
Satyr can be redeemed? Seriously? When did this happen, I'd love to see!
Dave Jul 14th 2011 12:21PM
@deathknighty
Go quest out the new Ashenvale. Look for a satyr named Avrus Illwhisper.
jlhealy Jul 14th 2011 12:56PM
Where do the extra legs go? O.o
Eregos ftw! Jul 14th 2011 1:15PM
@Jihily (Probably didn't spell that right)
You're confusing Satyr with Centaur. Centaur's have four legs, Satyr only have two. But they're red devils, so that makes up for the lack of four legs!
loop_not_defined Jul 14th 2011 1:30PM
Er...to connect my last comment with the OP, I wonder if, like the Flamewakers to Ragnaros, the Trolls were to Neptulon, and the Tauren were to Therazane.
We already know the Old Gods can turn stone, metal, and even robotic constructs into flesh. Surely they could do the same with other elements, right?
