The Queue: At least I've got video
That video is in response to yesterday's Queue.
Also, it is relatively bad ass and is probably something none of us can do.
Cyrromatic asked:
What happened to Arthas's body? Can't imagine it laying in front of Bolvar forever.
Scourge ate it.
(In all honesty, we don't know. It's probably in a mausoleum someplace at the Icecrown Citadel.)
Gimp asked:
When you make a new toon you get pets in the mail, like the blizzcon and the collectors edidion pets.
I often make alts way before I start playing them, mainly to get the full rested bonus. On my last alt, I never did collect the pets from the mail and the mail disappeared after 30 days, is there any other way of getting them back?
Talk with a GM. That's the only way I've heard to get those types of mounts and noncombat pets back. Some of them might be BoA, as well, so if you make another character, you can transfer them the toon you want.
Mik3st3r asked:
I thought that MMO-Champion had found some coding indicating that heirloom pants would come in 4.2. Was this idea scrapped?
MMO-C found them via datamining, which means only that some of the values were in the game files. It doesn't mean that the pants will make it into the actual game. That's why you take datamining with a grain of salt; it's only a little better than reading tea leaves.
And no, before people get all cranky, I'm not saying MMO-C is a bad site or anything. Hell, I go there often. I am saying you should listen to the warning that everyone says about datamining and not assume just because you see it that it will become a reality.

Figures. Also, where is the mandatory Bolvar/Mr Freeze meme?
xvkarbear Jul 14th 2011 11:18AM
That video impresses me.
Fjaweru Jul 14th 2011 11:34AM
Agreed.
I was in marching band in high school, and EVERYONE played that theme all the time.
But never like that.
MattKrotzer Jul 14th 2011 12:56PM
I was in band too, and your flute players were way cooler than ours, apparently.
Tirrimas Jul 14th 2011 1:40PM
My two girls are in marching band and...well...yeah.
Carry on.
(Trumpet and trombone, if you must know.)
Ravy Jul 14th 2011 3:21PM
Damn...I played the flute in high school and college and I can't figure out how the hell he is doing that.
And he is in key too.
I'm very impressed. XD
Cambro Jul 14th 2011 7:11PM
In addition to normal playing, he's also using several extended techniques: humming as well as "spitting" (what I call it)...press your lips together like you're going to say the letter P, and blow suddenly (it should come out as a percussive "p!", not "puh" or "pee"). You can also use "T" or "K" for different effects. He's also flutter tonguing at :16 (roll your tongue like you're doing a very exaggerated Scottish R). Around 1:05 I'm trying to figure out if he's overblowing some or if it sounds that way because of his vocalizations. (Overblowing plays the same notes an octave higher but with a different sound quality, think guitar harmonics, it's the same thing.) Wow, things I learned in college and haven't thought about in years suddenly coming back...
This is a really good performance, also considering that the flute is about the most inefficient wind instrument; about 60% of the air you blow through your mouth gets lost into the air, only about 40% actually goes into the instrument, which is why he almost looks like he's hyperventilating, haha. (All the brass and all the other woodwinds use 100% of the air.)

I have a feeling that Sylvannas, being the now very creepy and even more hatable -insert bad word here- she is, Is there a chance she took some Frostmourne shards? An another note, do you think we will get more worgen lore continuation at Hallow's Eve. It seems that there is going to be more Worgen and Forsaken fighting.
Noyou Jul 14th 2011 1:00PM
I was reading somewhere that Hallows end is getting a revamp in quests/lore/goodies. Makes sense too considering southshore is now the stinkpit we tried to prevent for the last few years. Perhaps Sylvanas will reveal she has Arthas frozen in a block of carbonite until she and her top men* can get a hold of enough shards to raise him into her undead army. Maybe she can enlist Miracle Max to come up with a chocolate pill.

Just leaving this here for reference. :)

why can't they transfer characters from US to EU?
KataSamoes Jul 14th 2011 11:37AM
Just my thoughts:
The servers are in completely different geological locations. Transferring them would be like mailing a flash drive from San Francisco to France (or wherever they're mainly based in over at EU), upload the information, and make it available to your EU account.
That's assuming they can't use some electronic transfer, but the servers in the US versus EU are not connected to make a simple $30 Paid Transfer.
The Dewd Jul 14th 2011 12:03PM
I bet they could do it if they really really really REALLLLLLY wanted to. But I bet it'd be a huge pain and would require way more work than should be necessary. Assuming that their databases are, essentially, the same (same structure, tables, etc) I bet they could find a way to create a data dump of your entire character and then import to the other region. The amount of work necessary would probably not be worth the effort - and that's assuming that it's easy to do.
Throw in any localization issues, -endian issues, or anything like that with (or within) the databases and you've got a scripting nightmare. Plus you'd have to disallow transfers during downtimes on either side and the like as well. They probably don't feel there are anywhere near enough players who rolled "on the wrong side of the pond" to warrant the manhours, unfortunately.
Ozzard Jul 14th 2011 12:13PM
Because it'd take the characters too long to learn to speak with the correct accents...
lownwolf Jul 14th 2011 12:15PM
EU server data is all in the metric system
loop_not_defined Jul 14th 2011 1:34PM
You deserve an internet for that comment, lonewolf. +1 indeed.
icepyro Jul 14th 2011 4:10PM
Actually, the software is keyed to various regions. As in, you couldn't set up a new account with the CD keys from the US in EU either. I think the EULA and ToS may be slightly different too. Different laws and restrictions apply.
In short, technically it would be no big deal (change cd keys, copy a small amount of data, good luck), but politically you have to be in that region and be subject to that region's rules and regulations, etc., blah, blah, or some such, which is more red tape than you can imagine.
Cambro Jul 14th 2011 7:14PM
I bet for $50 per character, they'll figure out how.
Arrohon Jul 14th 2011 11:31AM
Some people would say that a man playing the flute is gay. I say that anyone who can do that is badass. Awesome job sir!
Nina Katarina Jul 14th 2011 11:58AM
@Arrohon
Being gay and being badass are not mutually exclusive, no matter what the 12-year-olds on trade chat might say.
