The Queue: Because Sacco told me to write it

Here's how the conversation went.
INT. PIDGIN CHAT WINDOW - EVENING
Letters form to make a jumble of words, the night sky far off in the distance, summer's sun still shining down bright over the small Brooklyn apartment. Pings and dings alert MATHEW MCCURLEY to messages from the computer.
SACCO (dismissively)
Hey Mat, you're doing The Queue for me tomorrow.
MAT
Okay, that sounds great.
Hey Mat, you're doing The Queue for me tomorrow.
MAT
Okay, that sounds great.
INT. SACCO'S SOUL - EVENING
No life stirs. This land has been barren for ages.
The End.
Elmo asked:
Why are the cloaks of Draenei Males floating 2 feet above their tail?
I would assume that draenei cloaks float above their tails for the single reason that Blizzard did not want them to clip through their tails. As for a lore reason, I have no idea. Draenei magic. Remnant light energy from a voided naaru. I haven't played with a cape or cloak on since vanilla, including my draenei priest.
Zack asked:
I have a feeling that Sylvannas, being the now very creepy and even more hatable -insert bad word here- she is, Is there a chance she took some Frostmourne shards? An another note, do you think we will get more worgen lore continuation at Hallow's Eve. It seems that there is going to be more Worgen and Forsaken fighting.
At this point, your guess is as good as anyone's. However, I am of the opinion that Sylvanas is holding on to the shard of Frostmourne, and it is making her more aggressive and crazier than usual. With the Lich King gone and the Forsaken's main enemy felled, they are a bit aimless. Their anger and pain, as we learned from the recent Ask CDev, is pretty intense, since the undead are essentially falling apart and feeling every minute of it.
As for Hallow's Eve, patch 4.1 brought some hints at a new event, and Bashiok confirmed that Blizzard has some surprises in store for us when the holiday hits. I am hoping for some big story pushes, with the war in Gilneas getting a new chapter and hopefully letting worgen players see a bit more of their homeland.
Narshe stated:
Heads up: The realID feature Blizzard was promising that lets you invite other players from other realms into your dungeon party, is now in game and for free. Theres a small + icon next to players name in the realID friends list. If its not there reload your game!
I know this isn't a question, but I am having so much fun with this feature already. When it was first announced, I was searching for use cases and sort of running the feature through my mind, thinking how much I would use it and how it could change the game for me. Well, the feature is here and free for a limited time, and I adore it. I sincerely hope we get a free version and then a premium extra version, because it is such a revolutionary system in a sharded/realmed MMO.
What do you guys think about the new Real ID cross-server groups?
Cyno01 asked:
Q for the Q... So now that Fandral is officially a bad guy... what was he doing with all that morrowgrain we were fetching him over the years? What are we accomplices to?
It was revealed in the Stormrage novel (I think) that Fandral was having Alliance players gather and cultivate a huge amount of Morrowgrain in order to poison Malfurion Stormrage and keep him in the Emerald Nightmare. Eventually, the Morrowgrain would kill Malfurion, and crazy Fandral would have completed his crazy mission. Malfurion survived and cleansed the poison from his body, and Fandral was tossed into the pokey.
I had to do a search to remember if "pokey" was a synonym for jail, and happily, I was correct.
Kaahn Stewart asked:
The Queue, I've noticed that you have an astonishing lack of Forsaken staff, according to your "About Us" page. Care to explain, or should I get the "Equality for the Unliving" committee involved?
When I came on board over a year ago, there was a distinct lack of Horde, except for blood elves. It was this reason that I chose to use my orc shaman as my picture, to orc up that page. Since then, I think we've gotten a good mix of races, but yes, the Forsaken are under-represented.

What Mat conveniently leaves out of his ... colorful adaptation of yesterday's events is the line of text prior to mine, wherein Mat was complaining that he didn't get to do The Queue enough.
What kind of man can't even own up to something like wanting to write The Queue? What kind of MONSTER would foist the blame for such an innocuous event onto his friend? Nay, his BEST friend?
What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk. Have at you!

It is an adapted screenplay based on a true story.

INT. SOUP KITCHEN - EVENING
MATHEW MCCURLEY enters, clothes in tatters. Head bowed, he approaches VOLUNTEER 1, who is serving soup.
VOLUNTEER 1 (concerned)
Oh, Mat. Back again?
MAT (dejected)
Sacco wouldn't let me do The Queue today.
INT. SACCO'S SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ESTATE
MIKE SACCO is sitting in his smoking chair, lighting Cuban cigars with hundred dollar bills. He laughs, delighted at the plight of those less fortunate than he.
The End.

Question for the queue: As a fellow Brooklynite, what's Matt's opinion on the best pizzeria in Brooklyn?
Fuzzfuzz Jul 15th 2011 12:33PM
I've always enjoyed Luigi's on Dekalb Ave. in Clinton Hill

One of my favorite new yorkers comics is a woman on a witness stand, looking harassed.

Mike's post was already bright blue by the time I saw it, but I had to vote it up anyway for that Castlevania line.

Sexiest Mario ever!
it's not that Jul 15th 2011 4:29PM
First thought: That's not very sexy...
Second thought: There's not much competition.
Third thought: If there are sexy Mario pics, I don't wanna see them
Fourth thought: Rule #34 http://xkcd.com/305/

The biggest reason I find it easy-on-the-eyes is because the mustache is obviously a fake one, meaning I can easily overlook it. If it had been more realistic...Well, then I wouldn't be gushing. ;)
styopa Jul 15th 2011 11:08AM
I think the cross-shard friending will be nice, but I fear it will be nerfed into uselessness, in favor of the 'premium' (read:functional) version.
Through the hell that is PUGing, it would have always been nice to be able to postively impact your pug lists when you ran into awesome groups, rather than only negatively banning sucky players.
(Mainly this is because I don't /ignore players that simply suck...suckage can be for lots of reasons; I /ignore jerks regardless of their dps/effectiveness.)
