Whichever region out there is hogging all of the rain, please send some towards Wisconsin. My lawn could really use the help. Thanks in advance!
Jack Spicer:
In the pure interest of unlocking all of Molten Front as fast as possible, is "Additional Armaments" the superior choice over "Filling the Moonwell" and "Calling the Ancients" because it unlocks 1 additional daily quest, or do those other ones also unlock additional dailies?
I'm going to cheat on this one and link to a blog post one of my good friends wrote about the Firelands daily quests. Totem Forest broke down the daily quest progression, and in terms of speed, the worst situation you can put yourself in is ending up one day behind as long as you do all available daily quests each day. Head over there to check out the math on it.
Thiron asked:
Mylune: Cute or too cute?
I'm one of those guys who doesn't really get cute most of the time. I'm a cold, heartless bastard who is totally unaffected by cutesy kitten pictures. But Mylune? Mylune is adorable. Only Mylune manages to melt the glacier that is my heart. She isn't too cute. She's just cute enough.
Thiron asked:
Why do images of Firelands bosses sometimes on that rock in the middle of Molten Front?
You accidentally a word, but I'm pretty sure I get your meaning. They appear on that rock because it's cool and gives players a glimpse of the Firelands bosses outside of the raid. Simple as that.
Gossamer asked:
Can I not do the Druid of the Talon quests after doing the Warden quests
Here's what happened. I hit my second 150 tokens on completing all of the dailies. I had chosen the Wardens first, so I went and asked the Druids to join. Next I went back to the Molten Front and looked around. No dailies.
The next day I noted there was a quest from Matoclaw and I just figured I'd missed it the day before. Sure enough, I found a new daily for the Druids in the Molten Front. I decided to leave it until last, so I could complete my dailies with something new. But after completing the Warden quests I was phased and couldn't do the Druid dailies. Am I doing something wrong, or is this what I am supposed to see happen?
The whole gating process is extremely confusing because of things like this. You can only do the Shadow Wardens or the Druids of the Talon each day, not both. I did precisely what you did when I unlocked my second faction and was just as confused, but you're safe. You were locked out of those quests because you already did their equivalent from the other group of druids. While Blizzard did make this clear in its Battle.net Molten Front preview, an in-game indication of this would have gone a long way to prevent confusion.

Q for Le Queue: What, if there is any, is the geographical link between the Molten Front and Firelands? I get that it's in the elemental plane, so the geography can be as messed up and unconnected as Blizzard want or need it to be, but it seems to me that's a bit lazy. And as there's a Ragnaros' Reach in the Molten Front, I can't help but think it should be linked with the Firelands in some way. But looking at the maps of both zones I can't see how they'd be connected, if it all.
Bonus points for explaining why we're only attacking 2 really quite small elemental islands in what can only be an infinitely huge elemental plane. Does us planting a tree in the Molten Front really have that big a deal in the other billion miles of elemental plane?

There's either a daily or NPC that mentions that the Firelands is to the east of the Molten Front. I'm pretty sure it's a NPC hanging out with the Shadow Wardens. He says something about Beth'tilac being over to the east. If you go to the edge of the zone you can see another island that is likely the Firelands.
Saf Jul 18th 2011 11:16AM
They actually are connected, just not by the map.
If you do the bombing run daily for the Druids ('Fires in the Skies' I think it's called), you end up flying to the South-East of the Molten Front, over that floating volcano that sits behind the portal, and out into Beth'Thilac's Lair, where the bombing run takes place.
So technically, the Molten Front is to the West of Sulfuron Keep, and not shabby a spot to plant a sentinel tree, as it's essentially right in Rag's neighbour's yard.
Siorra Jul 18th 2011 11:17AM
You don't even have to go to the East. Just -look- East. That huge mass of floating rocks with Sulfuron Spire at the other end of it? That's the Firelands raid zone. They hover right next to each other in the fiery void.
Vitos Jul 18th 2011 11:26AM
Heck, if you have far-sight (either hunter or shaman version) you can chain cast it to explore the Firelands from the molten front. If you get to the bottom of the path leading up to Beth'tilac's lair, Blizzard tossed in something extra for you.

They are definitely connected. When you sign up to help the Druids of the Talon, one of your potential quests is a bombing run of the Firelands raid. Yeah, you actually fly over in one smooth transition and bomb a bunch of spiders and flamewalkers in and around Beth'tilac's lair. Lore-wise then, the Molten Front dailies are where we start the attack on the Firelands before we actually send in our heroes to kill the big bad lieutenants.
"2 really quite small elemental islands in what can only be an infinitely huge elemental plane."
First off, do we know it's infinitely huge? Secondly, even if it is...our real life universe is also infinitely huge, but the parts we can actually change in ways that affect us is, in comparison, a speck of dust.
Really, though, we're attacking some specific elementals, not an entire plane of existence. Consider us to be Raid Team 6, strategically dropping in to take out Ragnarosama, and you're wondering why that matters when there's still all of Pakistan around him. ;)

SS or it didn't happen, cutaia.
AudreyR Jul 18th 2011 1:57PM
@Cutaia, why don't you come back and try that with 24 of your friends?
Cyno01 Jul 18th 2011 2:12PM
Something else i havent seen anyone mention, on the bombing run quest, in one corner... theres a raid group. If you fly close enough you can see their text sometimes, theres a bear tank jumping around saying "can i pull" over and over or complaining about someone being afk.
Just looked em up.

So, I joined my guild in raiding the Firelands last night. I asked a noobish question.
"So when do we get to go in the buildings to kill the bosses?"
Apparently they're just a facade.

heres a Q for the Q : is it just me or have the gargoyle death animations changed because ive noticed they've stood in midair after death
Verine Jul 18th 2011 11:49AM
I recently started doing Argent tournament daily quests again and yes, they do die in mid air for me too. It looks odd.

Last night a guildie in Mumble was telling people that Blizzard was going to merge the Horde and Alliance and they would fight a new faction.
I guess my point is this: Eff you, Mike Sacco.
Arrohon Jul 18th 2011 11:12AM
That's priceless!
MattKrotzer Jul 18th 2011 11:29AM
I'd love for Blizzard to get inundated with outraged threads about the stuff in that picture.
Brilliant work, Mr. Sacco. I salute you.
AudreyR Jul 18th 2011 12:01PM
I can't wait to see dragons riding drakes.
No! The hogs!
No, wait! They should get land shark mounts!
Argh! I think my brain is leaking out my ears from it all.
Noyou Jul 18th 2011 12:14PM
Anyone seen Sacco's locks lately? Coz I'm coming for them. He won't know when or where but by Gravthar's hammer! (Slams fist down on hand) We will be avenged!
Oldbear Jul 18th 2011 12:26PM
I just want a flying Sharktopus mount... that is eating a pony...

Mike used to be this loveable, sweet-smelling hair kinda guy. Now he's EEEE-VIL. I don't think California argrees with him.

Excuse me Noyou, but was that a Galaxy Quest reference? If so, my good man, may I extend a cookie to you out of sincere respect?
