Two Bosses Enter: High Priestess Azil vs. Cookie

This week marks the first week of Cataclysm's second season of Two Bosses Enter. Last week we announced this season's lineup, but now it's time to begin. We're about to witness a showdown between the Stonecore's High Priestess Azil and the false Defias Kingpin, Cookie.

Follow along for the rules of the matchup and a review of what these bosses can do.
The rules of the ring
- The WoW Insider Ring is considered neutral territory, where both combatants are able to access their usual encounter mechanics and abilities. If you can't visualize it inside the squared circle, visualize it someplace else -- but you must take into consideration all of each bosses' abilities and mechanics.
- Assume that each opponent is intelligent and capable of strategic thinking.
- All of the competitors' abilities, including crowd control and other effects to which bosses are usually immune, work on their opponents (with apologies to considerations of lore on this point).
- Assume that the opponents share similar levels, health pools, and comparative overall damage output.
- Don't get caught up in gameplay mechanics and what actual players might do in each encounter.
- Don't neglect style, story, and scale. Everything is a factor; seeking balance is your goal as a spectator and judge.

The world will be reborn in flames!
There's something about High Priestess Azil that renders most healers incapable of understanding stand behind the gravity well. The cultists can't hurt you back there! Just put the big black splotch between you and the bad guys! You're completely safe back there! Why do you make things so much harder for yourself!? Clearly part of Azil's strength lies in her ability to cloud the mind of basic sense.
Unfortunately, High Priestess Azil's opponent in this matchup is a murloc, so sense may have never been a consideration to begin with. Based on Cookie's fighting style, a more important consideration may be Azil's stomach capacity.
Azil's arsenal includes ...
- Force Grip
- Curse of Blood
- Summon Gravity Well
- Seismic Shard
- She does not get her cultist adds because that would be cheating

Mrgle.
Cookie has proven himself to be the most stolid, steadfast ally of the Defias Brotherhood. He served not only under Edwin VanCleef, but he survived and scraped by long enough to serve his daughter, Vanessa VanCleef as well. Cookie knows what it takes to lead a band of thieves: firm hands and full bellies.
Cookie's toolkit includes:
- Cauldron Fire
- Throw Food
- Good food causes Satiated
- Bad food causes Nauseated
The battle begins!
Remember, Two Bosses Enter matchups are all about substance and style, not gameplay, mechanics, and numbers. Don't base your strategies on player tactics, which opponent has been easiest or most difficult for you personally, or the difficulty of each opponent relative to instance progression. Vote for the spirit of the battle as set forth above. Set aside differences in opponents' health pools, game level, and actual damage output. Absolutely no game mechanics nitpicking!

I voted for Anzil. She seems to have enough followers to eat up the supplies of cookie. Even if most of them will be puking hard afterwards.
Zankoku Jul 18th 2011 7:10PM
followers are NOT included in the TBE fight
Sumadin Jul 18th 2011 7:26PM
Yea i read that afterwards. My vote still stands through. Immobile Cokie against void zones and giant rocks. I guess Today's special in the deadmines will be murlock sushi.
Skyrei Jul 19th 2011 2:23AM
This fight wouldnt matter with the followers anyway.
High Priestess Azil casts Gravity Well on Cookies location.
Followers come out.
Followers head for Cookie.
Followers die to Gravity well.

Azil. Why? Cookie stays in his pot and doesn't move. Azil's Shards will rip him a new one.
Anti Jul 18th 2011 7:27PM
I would actually counter that argument with an easy win for Cookie. Void zones? Meh, good thing I am not touching the ground! Thrown boulders? Duck down in the water for a second. I actually think that this would be pretty close. The only thing he would have to worry about would be the Force Grip, unless it just slams him back into the pot! Cookie would probably win because he would wait out Azil until she did something stupid.
Zankoku Jul 18th 2011 8:09PM
Void zones still suck you in if you are levitating.
Shards? Common... they still 1HKO newbs
Natsumi Jul 18th 2011 8:31PM
But Cookie is hardly a noob, he's been a boss for over 6 years now.
wowinsider Jul 18th 2011 7:10PM
How can Cookie be winning this? Azil throws rocks, Cookie throws food! Cookie is stuck in a pot, Azil can pop down a void zone that he needs to get out of never mind the force choke she has!
Easy win to Azil!
SmokeTheBear Jul 18th 2011 8:02PM
Cookie can be winning this because TBE has always been a popularity contest, and will continue to be a popularity contest, especially if the poll stays before the fold (but even moving it after the fold would likely only change the results a little bit).
Dboy Jul 19th 2011 8:02PM
@Smoke
You are absolutely right. Such a shame to see a new season start and quickly realise how boring the whole thing will be for this reason alone.
Rai Jul 18th 2011 7:11PM
I presume that Cookie would decide not to move the entire fight and as such, is an easy target.
ESPECIALLY since he can't interrupt.
Natsumi Jul 18th 2011 8:09PM
I counter this with Cookie will move the entire fight. He just had a motor and wheels installed (by goblins) on his pot. Look out it's a drive by fooding!
Salculd Jul 19th 2011 1:03AM
Oh, I didn't realize we could just make stuff up. In that case, it doesn't matter since Azil had a tactical thermonuclear warhead built, which she will use without any hesitation. It doesn't hurt her since she's also explosion-proof now (she learned an anti-exploding spell).
Xantenise Jul 18th 2011 7:11PM
Again, no idea how Cookie can win this. He can't move out of the way of rocks, can't move out of the way of gravity well, and he'll get adds sicced on him.
He's doomed.
Natsumi Jul 18th 2011 8:27PM
No adds per the rules for this fight.
Xantenise Jul 18th 2011 8:28PM
@Natsumi Everything else still stands.
Natsumi Jul 18th 2011 8:35PM
You obviously haven't read my other posts, the pot is smaller and stronger than the boulders, thus he is protected from them. The pot also protects him from the gravity wells as it acts as a liquid shock absorber.
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
Xantenise Jul 19th 2011 1:49AM
@Natsumi Until he falls out.
NekoDaimyo Jul 18th 2011 7:12PM
Man, this is bullshit. The idea may not be about fight mechanics, but a stationary boss, versus a boss that requires a fair amount of movement is pretty crap.
