Tuesday Morning Post: Guy Love edition
I have to admit, it annoyed me at first. Night elves and tauren being all cuddly like that sort of bothered me. The Horde's evil, man. Tauren will betray you, Anren. They're attacking your home in Ashenvale even now! But you know, now that I've gotten to know them a little better, maybe it's not so bad. They're just keeping up a long tradition in the annals of WoW. There's been Asric and Jaadar, Thassarian and Koltira, and now Anren and Tholo. Maybe we could all learn to love each other a little more, just like them.
So go ahead. Bask in the warm fuzziness of the bromance. And once you're done, keep reading for the latest WoW news from the past seven days. Downtime this week is from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. PDT, so you'll have plenty of time to get caught up.

Ok that is the best ever episodes of Scrubs!!!!!!!!! Got a major Scrubs fan here :D

So I am not the only one to be embarrassed by the constant and overt re-iteration of their... friendship.
But more importantly, ‘the Horde is evil’? Never, man, never. Would you care to call Go'el evil? Or the Bloodhoofs, senior (and late) and junior? Or my personal favourite, Varok Saurfang? If so, your understanding of ‘evil’ is incompatible with mine.
DeathPaladin Jul 19th 2011 8:07AM
While Thrall is not evil, he is an incredibly poor judge of character, and will often unquestioningly trust very untrustworthy people.
See Grom Hellscream, Garrosh Hellscream, Gallywix, Sylvanas, and a large number of player characters (and before you all jump down my throat, I'm referring to both Horde and Alliance player characters).
Kesely Jul 19th 2011 8:39AM
I have no intention of jumping down your throat :)
And I concede to your point that Thrall's judgement is often poor. Man, Gallywix — I have still not got over it; how could he trust that worm? But it doesn't make him evil, nor the Horde. The statement that the Horde is evil is as meaningless as statements like ’the Alliance is evil’ or ‘Americans are evil’.
Yes, Sylvanas is clearly evil. Well, I find Garrosh a bit more complex, but let us call him evil, I have no problem with that. But the bulk of the Horde is not; nor was it a motif Blizzard intended for them (I dare not say ‘has been’ as recent changes, like the forcing of Garrosh and his warmongering lackeys, sadly point in another direction).
Gulthor Jul 19th 2011 11:32AM
Indeed; a better assessment is that the Horde is chaotic while the Alliance is lawful. Although... the Forsaken might just be true blue evil.
Thank you, Dungeons & Dragons for the alignment system.
cruddiertyrant Jul 19th 2011 7:04AM
The Horde uh, isn't evil.
Unless you meant from an Alliance perspective?
kodakmsr99 Jul 19th 2011 7:22AM
Hmmm. Isnt it interesting though that the "evil" Horde is even now STILL saving your Alliance butts. Greatest shammy ever! Check. Saving Hyjal....again. Check.
Kinda wish people would learn the difference between the outlooks. Its not that Horde is evil, it's that they have a different culture then the Alliance does. "Might makes right" So to speak. Read some History about Knights and Barbarian tribes and you will get a better understanding.
(for the record I play BOTH sides. I'm not a Xenophobe)

Even on my highly populated PvP realm, Tauren and Night Elf (and now Troll and Worgen) druids always maintained a respectful peace in Moonglade. And even in the rest of the game world (outside battlegrounds and arenas), it almost feels dishonorable to be the first druid to attack another.
babywhiz Jul 19th 2011 8:18AM
I agree. It's a very rare moment that I do see the druids attack each other outright. It's always those filthy warriors that om nom nom the druids.
Cyclone doesn't count.
Bynde Jul 19th 2011 9:39AM
Mmmm. Maybe.
I know that as a Moonkin I am drawn to other Moonkin in Battlegrounds. I have a "target fixation" on Horde Moonkins.
Also, it's kinda fun when both of you end up typhooning each other at the same time. You juts know the other Druid is laughing at the same time you are while plummeting backwards off the flag spot in EoS. Good times.
But, outside of BGs, I do like my Druid kin no matter how ugly they may be.
Eddy Jul 19th 2011 3:16PM
I remember druid pact from vanilla. The servers I played on then all had druid pact, and no druid ever attacked another druid unless provoked by a player of another class.
I stopped playing druid with BC, so I don't know whether it persisted, but I've heard that it didn't really continue after that.

my favorite Tholo&Anren scene :) they circle around back to back whenever players kill all currently attacking elementals so they're idle, while on the quest Caught Unawares http://www.wowhead.com/quest=29197
And did you know they didn't just show up in 4.2? They've actually been early questgivers in Hyjal since 4.0, they give you the first quests the average player does in that zone.

I think I will while away the maintenance by playing SW:TOR.

Forest fire! I HAVE TO SAVE THE BUNNIES!
Wait, what was I saying?
MusedMoose Jul 19th 2011 8:06AM
Mylune's influence is stronger than anyone suspects. ^_^
DeathPaladin Jul 19th 2011 8:20AM
Seriously. My Death Knight has slaughtered his way across Azeroth and beyond. It's not so much a path of destruction, but a fully paved four-lane highway. He has no qualms about killing or torturing. He will without hesitation burn entire towns to the ground if it would help him accomplish his goals.
But doing something that would make Mylune cry? That is a line he will not cross.
Ylspeth Jul 19th 2011 11:28AM
Oh NO you're covered in SPIDER-SPORCH!
Vlad4ever Jul 19th 2011 8:26AM
When I saw those two for the first time I felt exactly the opposite! It was so sweet Horde and Alliance together! Next is getting Varian to hug Thrall or just salute him...that will work too.
RiderGeshtar Jul 19th 2011 7:02PM
I would pay good money to see that. FOEYAY! FOEYAY!
