As soon as I saw the circle, let alone the event, I had an opinion on this.Of course I'm not positive, but I feel like this HAS to be a nod to the game Endless forest by Tale of Tales. (http://tale-of-tales.com/TheEndlessForest/) In the game you play a deer, and you...run around and do deer things. Bellow and rub trees and eat grass and stuff. The point of the game is that there is no point. It's very relaxing. Every now and then the GMs host what is called an 'abiogenesis' event. They travel through the forest making random things happen, mostly involving pretty lights and sounds. Lots of players come on for the Abiogenesis, and stand around to watch. One of the other things you can do in the game is cast magic you gain from eating mushrooms/sipping streams/etc. on others to make them change shape. One kind of magic can only be obtained by "do[ing] absolutely nothing for about 5 minutes. Then your deer will fall asleep."So. A mushroom circle. Golden magical lights. Deer gathering to watch. You have to sit around and wait for it to happen.I've always loved The Endless Forest for its uniqueness, and it makes me happy to think that if this IS a nod to that game, someone else at Blizzard must feel the same.
