Not only was it 500+ (assuming they aren't trying to scare off other guilds - not that it would matter since they've got the World First), but I bet the vast majority of those were not 30 seconds of pulling and having the main tank 1-shot. Sure, I'd bet there were a handful of false starts but these guys are some of the best raiders in the world so a lot of those were probably 10-15 minute fights. If just half of the pulls were "near misses" like that, you're looking at over 40 hours of wiping before they got it right, not even counting the other 250 pulls just to get to that point.

tl;dr These guys probably spent more time wiping on Heroic Ragnaros during that time than a lot of the rest of us spent at work.
