Happy to see a Jaina Proudmoore novel coming. I'm Ally through-and-through and I find her the most compelling character in the alliance right now* (I know we're all supposed to find the king's story interesting, but I just find him kinda annoying). I've been hoping to hear more from Jaina for a while.
*I should note that like a lot of us Alliance Thrall is my favorite character in the game. Jaina is next, followed I think by Malfurion Stormrage, just because of his general druidic badassery.

Thats the thing with alliance fans, they're too neutral, and tend to be fans of Thrall. They favor leaders that want to work WITH the enemy, rather than fight them. Orc lovers like Jaina and Anduin who would risk their fraction's/family's safety just to get a glimpse of Jesu- I mean Thrall.
This is one reason why Alliance comes off as weak and passive. Too many are frankly, carebears, and want carebear leaders, and hate anyone that shows fraction pride or aggressiveness like Varian. There's also the fact most of our heroes become either neutral, evil raid bosses, or one of Sylvannas's slaves.

If by "faction pride or aggressiveness" you mean "blind hatred", "bigotry", or "genocidal beliefs", then you're right. Otherwise, you're completely wrong. And there are plenty of Horde fans who, like the Alliance fans you bemoan, prefer leaders who are sane and reasonable.
