Trefpoid asked:
Has anybody else noticed that female Naga have been given shirts all of a sudden? Why has this happened? Did someone find that female naga where to provocative going around topless or is Blizzard trying out something else? a friend suggested maybe they are trying to see how they look with armour, maybe as a future playable race, but Blizzard has already stated that playable races need to have legs.. so what has happened here? It's really weird to see all these nagas with chinese styled clothings all of a sudden and with no explanation.
It does seem to be an intended change, though bear in mind that naga have been able to wear armor since The Burning Crusade. It could be that there's something being planned for the naga, or at least there's been a movement to humanize them (or elfize them, as it were). As of right now, though, if you want playable naga, the closest you'll probably get is the WoW TCG's upcoming Throne of the Tides expansion.
Proffesor Orc asked:
A while back it was mentioned on the Queue that Joystiq is working on overhauling the comment system and that would in turn affect WoW Insider. Have there been any updates on this front?
We're due for a site overhaul similar to the ones that Joystiq and Massively got, but we don't currently have an ETA. You're welcome to comment on some Joystiq posts to see how you like it.
Mateo asked:
Why don't quest kills count if said kill is caused by a defensive buff/pet/etc.? For instance, when I'm doing low level quests on my hunter and my pet kills the target before I can get a shot off, that kill doesn't count. Or when I'm on my shaman and a mob attacks me while I have lightning shield up, that won't count toward my quest objective. I'm pretty sure my wolf and lightning shield wouldn't mind letting me have the kill in these situations.
You didn't need to take any action for the kill to occur, so you don't get credit for it.
alzeer asked:
now that azeroth is revamped and we got zones that we couldn't access prior to cataclysm , other than emerald dream, are there any areas that we cant reach left on azeroth?
At this point, nearly all of the inaccessible or areas not yet on the map that are left in Azeroth are islands, such as Kul Tiras, Hiji, Zul'Dare, and Crestfall. There aren't any huge land masses left that we're aware of, and they certainly didn't appear on the maps of Azeroth in Ulduar -- but hey, it's not like Blizzard can't just do a "titan cloaking device!" retcon or something, like it did with Uldum.

Maybe Knaak can have Rhonin travel back in time and build an entire new continent using his bare hands. Then some High Elves can land there (mysteriously, all of them are female and hot!) and he can marry each of them in turn. Fast-forward to the present day, where there will be a new landmass full of nothing but half-elven super-wizards who are pathologically incapable of referring to each other's eyes as anything but "orbs."

My brain, scarred!

You also forgot that everything on the island that is larger than a breadbox will be referred to as a "behemoth" or a "leviathan", and that it will be "all they could do" to perform mundane tasks like handing out quests.
leggomymuoio Jul 24th 2011 1:33PM
You also forgot that anything red on the island will be referred to as "fiery."
Bombyptw Jul 24th 2011 1:59PM
You also forgot the dragons... Richard never forgets the dragon!
Rainstorm Jul 24th 2011 2:07PM
So a super-sized fel orc would have "fiery, leviathan orbs"?
Cephas Jul 24th 2011 3:32PM
Their faction will be another secret sect of the Kirin Tor called the "Violet Orb".
korebea Jul 24th 2011 3:40PM
There will have to be a law, making the word "face" illegal. If you don't say "visage" you will be arrested.

Maybe at some point Illidan's brother can make an appearance?

You know how Columbus discovering America was a RL retcon. No wait.... it was always there but no one had been there to discover it. Maybe there could another undiscovered landmass on Azeroth? You know, maybe on that side of the world we've never been to? If Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor were the the east and west of Azeroth don't you think it would make sense for there to be a harbor on the east of Eastern Kingdoms instead of having to take a boat that requires you to go around Kalimdor? Brann is running out of places to explore....

There's a difference between a retcon and an outlandish development.
"The orcs were actually tricked by demons into being evil" was a retcon.
"Kalimdor exists" was an outlandish development.
If a new fact invalidates old information, it is a retcon. If it adds new stuff without interfering with anything else, no matter how outlandish, it doesn't qualify.
Shade Jul 24th 2011 12:27PM
Outland was a pretty outlandish development! *ducks*
riley Jul 24th 2011 1:00PM
"Kalimdor exists" was an outlandish development.
What do you mean by that? Didn't Kalimdor always exist before WoW?
Apple Jul 24th 2011 2:14PM
Are you saying that another large landmass would not be a retcon? Because the Ulduar complex had maps of the planet with only three continents, so if they decided to add another one that would necessarily be a retcon.
Lore follows gameplay, and that's fine, but as it stands we know how many continents there are. If Blizzard wanted to make new places on Azeroth for players to explore, they'd have to either incorporate the islands mentioned above or introduce a retcon plot device.
Amaxe Jul 24th 2011 2:18PM
It was introduced in Warcraft III I think.
gandar54 Jul 24th 2011 2:30PM
Yeah, Kalimdor was introduced in WC3 when Thrall led the orcs there under Medivhs advice.
cloudhopper013 Jul 24th 2011 4:20PM
@ Apple
I think he meant to say that Uldum being there wasn't a retcon, not that a new landmass wouldn't be one.
