Trefpoid asked:
Has anybody else noticed that female Naga have been given shirts all of a sudden? Why has this happened? Did someone find that female naga where to provocative going around topless or is Blizzard trying out something else? a friend suggested maybe they are trying to see how they look with armour, maybe as a future playable race, but Blizzard has already stated that playable races need to have legs.. so what has happened here? It's really weird to see all these nagas with chinese styled clothings all of a sudden and with no explanation.
It does seem to be an intended change, though bear in mind that naga have been able to wear armor since The Burning Crusade. It could be that there's something being planned for the naga, or at least there's been a movement to humanize them (or elfize them, as it were). As of right now, though, if you want playable naga, the closest you'll probably get is the WoW TCG's upcoming Throne of the Tides expansion.
Proffesor Orc asked:
A while back it was mentioned on the Queue that Joystiq is working on overhauling the comment system and that would in turn affect WoW Insider. Have there been any updates on this front?
We're due for a site overhaul similar to the ones that Joystiq and Massively got, but we don't currently have an ETA. You're welcome to comment on some Joystiq posts to see how you like it.
Mateo asked:
Why don't quest kills count if said kill is caused by a defensive buff/pet/etc.? For instance, when I'm doing low level quests on my hunter and my pet kills the target before I can get a shot off, that kill doesn't count. Or when I'm on my shaman and a mob attacks me while I have lightning shield up, that won't count toward my quest objective. I'm pretty sure my wolf and lightning shield wouldn't mind letting me have the kill in these situations.
You didn't need to take any action for the kill to occur, so you don't get credit for it.
alzeer asked:
now that azeroth is revamped and we got zones that we couldn't access prior to cataclysm , other than emerald dream, are there any areas that we cant reach left on azeroth?
At this point, nearly all of the inaccessible or areas not yet on the map that are left in Azeroth are islands, such as Kul Tiras, Hiji, Zul'Dare, and Crestfall. There aren't any huge land masses left that we're aware of, and they certainly didn't appear on the maps of Azeroth in Ulduar -- but hey, it's not like Blizzard can't just do a "titan cloaking device!" retcon or something, like it did with Uldum.

A destro lock's imp can kill an enemy and the player will get credit for the kill, and be able to loot... assuming the enemy lives longer than 3 seconds.
The destro imp places a DoT on the enemy when his basic attack hits, called Burning Embers. The damaqe from this DoT counts as player damage. So the player lock is technically causing the damage, although they don't have to have any input on it.
I do this a lot when I am running through the AT dailies (seriously, check them out sometime... almost 24g for a few of them, plus the racial pets you can buy with champion seals still sell, and it takes ~5 minuts to do 8 dailies over there). Just let my imp run around and kill stuff while I focus on other mobs, then loot. Worked a lot better before they removed "Aggressive", but whatever.
Revynn Jul 24th 2011 1:56PM
The AT minipets sell for fairly ridiculous amounts these days. Since no one does the tournament dailies anymore, I typically see the various racial pets on my AH for anywhere from 2000-5000 G. If you do them all, you can get a pet every 3-4 days. It's not bad money.

Why are there two Shrines of Aessina in game? One (probably most familiar to players) in Mount Hyjal, but the other in a tiny corner of Ashenvale (just over the hills from BFD). Did Blizzard just not catch that prior to Cata launch?
I'm not asking from a lore perspective, since it is quite plausible in that sense. :p
Sintra E'Drien of the Ebon Blade, né Sindorei (Do Worgen get hairballs?)
Marbles Jul 24th 2011 12:53PM
The area in Hyjal is labelled "Grove of Aessina", so is a different name for a place of likely equal significance.
For another answer, shrines are not generally unique - it is easily possible to have more than one established shrine for a deity/god/ancient/whatever.
Suzaku Jul 24th 2011 4:06PM
The Grove of Aessina subzone probably crosses over from Mount Hyjal into Ashenvale since it's right on the border of the zone. Most likely unintended.

Anytime you actually have to worry about your pet killing stuff before you get a shot off, it's *probably* because you outgear/outlevel the mob. I've been doing a lot of low- and medium-level areas lately, trying to level leatherworking on my level 60ish hunter. Since you also can't skin it if it's not looted and you can't loot if you didn't kill it, I shoot first and let the pet pick up the slack after I've already got a hit on the target.

^^ A few years ago I had a hunter ask me to help him with some quests that required killing x amount of y. A few minutes into it he starts typing "OMG *******". I asked what was wrong and he replied it was not fair that he did not get credit for his pet killing things. It was then I noticed he was 10 levels above the zone and why on earth did he need me to help him. (I was level 70 at the time)
He became defensive and said it was too hard to do quests at the same level.
I could have given him pointers on proper gearing and such, but all I could type was, "Do you want me to check into getting you an iron lung as well?"
I hate laziness.

So you know how those Gnolls in Hillsbrad have the quest (!) mark above their head, and if you kill them you get a quest to kill some more of them. Has this been implemented anywhere else in Cata? I know we have more drops that start quests, and objects lying around, but those gnolls seem to be the only example of the quest coming to you this way. Are there others that I have simply managed to miss?
Arrohon Jul 24th 2011 12:46PM
There's at least one in Uldum and Vashj'ir. In Vashj you're killing eels and in Uldum I believe it's coyotes... maybe
Kole Jul 24th 2011 1:26PM
In Uldum they're mangy hyenas...

There is another one of those in Hillsbrad for the slimes, and another in Silverpine for, I believe, Worgen, in Ivar's old farm.

People seems to forget one tiny little detail. We're only on one hemisphere. We're on either the east or west hemisphere and there's another that hasn't even explored! Maybe there's nothing there but ocean. We don't know unless Blizzard tells us!
Jere Hunter Jul 24th 2011 12:49PM
No, when you are in the Halls of Lightning, there is a Globe of Azeroth, and the 2 continents are there, east and west, there is a sort of southen continent that is difficult to make out, and of course, Northrend
Nitrocircus1 Jul 24th 2011 12:56PM
It's a map not a globe. Maps show both hemispheres at once.
MusedMoose Jul 24th 2011 12:58PM
Considering that the Halls of Lightning is a titan installation, if the titans wanted to block off parts of the world much like they did with Uldum, it would make sense for them to make sure that the globes in the Halls of Lightning didn't show stuff they'd blocked off. I mean, they must have figured we'd show up there eventually and screw stuff up. ^_^ All the better to keep us from finding more of the world to screw up. And do those globes in the Halls of Lightning show Uldum?
My personal theory is that the titans know that the Old Gods require other sentient beings around to have the most influence, and so the titans sealed off an entire other continent that had at least one Old God, so that it couldn't affect the rest of the world. No, I don't have anything but a few guesses to base this theory on, why?
Amaxe Jul 24th 2011 2:33PM
It's a globe... unless they changed it since I last ran it (I remember watching it to see if it revealed any other land masses).
Keeping in mind we're kind of invading a titan place, I don't see why they would be hiding this information...
...though I wouldn't put it past Blizz to use that as an excuse ^_^;;
Noyou Jul 24th 2011 3:29PM
And it's a game. If blizzard wants to add more continents or zones like the outland I'm pretty sure they can add it. Since this expac was "let's go back to the old world" and how they seem to like to make the last expac almost irrelevant, I would imagine that the next one will be far away from the "old world". Maybe back to the outland or another zone you have to port to.
cory.mercer Jul 24th 2011 3:44PM
yah i thought the OP was just talking about the normal character map, i didn't think about the globe in HoL (I don't remember how that looks though to be honest)
also this is nitrocircus1 if the comment system just labels me by my email, I have no idea how to use this thing lol
thawedtheorc Jul 24th 2011 4:34PM
Okay.. not being mean here. But for the life of me, I cannot understand the thought process of people who stubbornly say "No! No! No! Ulduar has a globe with all the.. blah blah blah"
That means nothing. Nada. It just shows what the Titans wanted us to know about. Kalimdor has a whole new large land mass on it's southern shore that no one knew about.. and it DOES NOT SHOW UP ON THE ULDUAR MAP!
See what I did there? I used my EH MAG IN A TION.
Al Jul 25th 2011 1:52AM
You have an E-Mag in a Tin? Well, you better let it out!
