Around Azeroth: No cats go to heaven
"I was running Escape from Durnholde a few days ago when I stuck around after the final boss," writes Dumbpuppyman of Midnight Cartel on Elune (US-A). "Running down to reminisce about/mourn Southshore, I discovered that for whatever reason the water was missing. As in 'gone' -- no swimming environment, no fuzzy you're-leaving-the-boundaries-of-the-map clouds you usually get in those instances. Nevertheless, the boats were still floating, and the fish were still swimming, which made hunting a much more attractive prospect for this sushi-loving kitty."

Drop multisampling down to 1x and the water will reappear.

I've had this happen to me at least once as well, and it's not the normal graphical, water-is-invisible problem. In this case, there was literally no water. You run into the ocean, and you keep running, you don't swim, you don't slow down. You run to an underwater cliff, you fall to your death. It's not the normal client-side error.

I thought I saw that when I went there the other day myself. I've been catching up on BC dungeon achievements on an alt and ran by the Southshore in CoT for old time's sake. IIRC, there were pools of fish floating in the air but I just assumed the water wasn't showing. I'll have to go back at some point and see if it does it again - and if it's invisible water or what.

I noticed this myself while running Old Hillsbrad for the Judgment recolour boots off of Skarloc. Tres bizarre.
