Patch 4.2 hotfixes for July 26

We've got another round of hotfixes this evening, courtesy of the official WoW blog. Today's list is a little longer and contains the usual bout of Firelands hotfixes. Also included however, are a few class tweaks as well as some adjustments to Molten Front dailies and quests.
- For elemental shaman, the Shamanism passive now causes Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and Lava Burst spells to gain an additional 32% benefit from spellpower, up from 20%.
- Hey, warriors -- Deep Wounds should no longer ignore damage modifiers on a target.
- Players who die and release before a boss is killed should now receive valor and justice points. However, players who release at the moment the boss dies and are at the loading screen will become locked to the dungeon but won't receive any currency for the kill. Blizzard's working to address this.
- In the Molten Front, players who are hated or hostile with the Steamwheedle Cartel can still turn in the quest Well Armed to Ricket. Bloodsail Admirals, rejoice!
Follow after the break for the full list of hotfixes.

- All combat and vanity pets should now respawn normally after players use any flight path.
-

- Combustion should no longer ignore damage modifiers on a target. As an example, Smoldering Elemental packs in the Firelands should no longer take full damage from Impact's spread of Combustion, despite these creatures having damage reduction modifiers.
-
Shaman
- Shamanism (Elemental passive) now causes Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and Lava Burst spells to gain an additional 32% benefit from the shaman's spell power, up from 20%.
-
Warriors
- Deep Wounds should no longer ignore damage modifiers on a target. As an example, Smoldering Elementals in the Firelands should no longer take full damage from Deep Wounds, despite these creatures having damage reduction modifiers.

-
Dungeons & Raids
- Players who die and release before a boss is killed should now receive Valor and Justice points. However, players that release at the moment the boss dies and are currently at the loading screen will become locked to the dungeon, but will not receive any currency for the kill. We're working to address this in a future update.

-
Alysrazor
- Alysrazor cannot dodge or parry attacks from players.
- Alysrazor's melee evasion angle has been adjusted so that players have a larger area to use abilities which require that they be behind their target.
- Blazing Talon Clawshapers will now properly aggro a new target when threat is dropped.
- On Heroic difficulty, Brushfires will despawn once Firestorm is cast, and since the Initiates shield themselves during firestorm, none are cast again until it ends.
- Molten Feather is removed once Alysrazor ignites at 50 energy, as opposed to when she burns out.
-
Baleroc
- On 25-player Heroic difficulty, Torment now grants a stack of Vital Spark per 5 applications, up from 3. To compensate, Baleroc's health has been reduced on 25-player Heroic difficulty.
-
Beth'tilac
- Attacking the Fire Hawk flock along the way to Beth'tilac will not cause the Hell Hound pack to aggro as well.
-
Majordomo Fandral Staghelm
- Fandral's health has been reduced on 25-player Heroic difficulty.
- Damage suffered from a shaman's Spirit Link totem will no longer break player Concentration.
- Player pets should now benefit from their master's Concentration.

- Wiping to Mage-Lord Urom in any phase of the encounter no longer causes players to be unable to use their Dragon Essences to mount drakes.

- The Moonwell Phial is now on a shared cooldown with other on-use trinkets.

-
Hyjal Regrowth & Molten Front
- Players should now be able to accept the quest Unlocking the Secrets Within from Rabine Saturna after turning in A Smoke-Stained Locket.

Yay! This Ele buff should make the Molten Front dailies even easier. I was already critting for 40k+ with lava burst in PvP gear on mobs :) 20k+ lightning bolts (while running) anyone?
AudreyR Jul 26th 2011 11:30PM
No EotS?! This makes me a sad shaman.
Any word on what's up with it?
Sinderion Jul 27th 2011 12:08AM
I dont know but last week my team got that place like 5 times in a row, to the point i stopped rbging from getting tired of it. Seemed fine though some wins, some losses. Alas I be healy pally and cannot mass kick everyone off mid so I wont be missing it so much while it's out of the rotation. Running flags was fun though with all the holy speed buffs.
Jabadabadana Jul 27th 2011 6:31PM
You be a sad Ele Shaman... wondering if that is exactly why EotS os out of the rotation. Knockback practically becomes mandatory for any group wanting to affect the flag.
AudreyR Jul 27th 2011 6:56PM
That's the only bg I go elem in.
On bad days, I queue specifically for that. Something about the violence at the flag is so cathartic, I get satisfaction when I'm the one sent flying.

Did Blizzard seriously misspell Oculus?
thebitterfig Jul 27th 2011 12:12AM
Dude, everyone misspells Awkoolis.
blancester Jul 27th 2011 1:55AM
Seems even Blizz deonst have any love for Okulus.
Oteo Jul 27th 2011 4:29AM
Ahqueuelus was my least favorite Wrath dungeon.
The Lesser Evil Jul 27th 2011 5:59AM
Why correct Blizzard on their spelling when you can't spell O-QQlus yourself. Seriously.
yujie.max Jul 27th 2011 7:16AM
I'm afraid the sarcasm has gone over your head.
The Lesser Evil Jul 27th 2011 7:34AM
Actually, I think it arrived at my head perfectly fine, but then I took it too far. ¬_¬
Naraxis Jul 27th 2011 10:01AM
why does blizz still care about awwqqyewlous anymore? its not like anyone still runs it...
Cephas Jul 27th 2011 10:50AM
Actually, I'm pretty sure Zarhym personally compiles the hotfix lists, so I think we can blame him for mispelling Ωキュлǚß.
SR Jul 26th 2011 11:56PM
Oof... Hefty nerf for Alysrazor... it's gonna be a bitch to avoid the tornadoes now : /
Ecca Jul 27th 2011 12:29AM
Molten Feather isn't a buff you gain in the fight but rather feathers on the ground you pick up for buffs. I'm assuming they mean that Blazing Power (the haste buff) isn't removed immediately on Burnout (you keep Alysra's Razor, the crit buff, til it runs out). Notice it says "ignites at 50 energy" which I read as halfwayish through the burnout phase, allowing players to keep the haste buff longer.
Unless I'm reading it wrong :\
Knob Jul 27th 2011 12:34AM
You'll still have them during the tornados. It actually makes the fight easier since you'll have the speed buff to get into position quicker after the tornados are done.
Quaza Jul 27th 2011 1:05PM
The haste/crit buff stays until it drops. With luck I can get 30 seconds of unmitigated ownage on the boss before it drops. The run speed increase is what drops immediately after tornadoes, and now that's been extended to allow us to get in position easier (I hate wasting time running when I can be throwing 1-second pyroblasts that always crit).
Arrohon Jul 27th 2011 12:27AM
Oculus, everyone's favorite dungeon!
/sarcasm
I really never understood peoples' hate for it. Seemed to be the same quality as the other dungeons to me.
blancester Jul 27th 2011 1:58AM
Oculus was a neat dungeon, but the last boss was odd to alot is they had to learn a drake, and sense only that instance had those drakes, it was sometimes hard for some to grasp the concept of the mechanics.
Also a 3D up and down instance can have some lost.
