I say this as a Ret paladin who also dabbles in the dark side with a Frost DK.

In a month, we won't care or remember this. In a month, people will be pugging and clearing Firelands, alts will be getting geared through drops, and the mats price will be, again, low enough to buy this if you really can't be bothered to take your character into a raid. Yes, it's too bad that the reality of the weapon got changed independent of its tooltip. I feel sorry for the people who dropped large amounts of gold on one of these, only to have it magically become less of an upgrade. But in the end, it really isn't that big of a deal.
