I strongly disagree with this take. As a country, we do help out our own as well as helping out others. We have numerous programs to help out the homeless, and Federal programs set up to help out any state in the case of a disaster (e.g. FEMA). Although sometimes it may seem like certain areas are left out and abandoned, we do come together either as a country or community to help those that are in need.As for the other countries...I'd be very surprised if they looked at those in need and said "Oh well, America's problem". Other countries have foreign aid programs as well. I don't see why that means we should stop ours.
