The Queue: Panda-free

This Queue is panda-free, just how I hope WoW stays.
Walkmann asked:
Question for the Queue, whatever happened to Southern Barrens (might have been Northern don't remember) becoming like a world pvp zone?
Unless I'm not remembering right, there was never any intention of making either of The Barrens into PVP zones, but rather that the Alliance/Horde conflict in the story would be a centerpiece of the zone.
I think Blizzard has found the formula for would PVP with Wintergrasp as Tol Barad -- concentrated areas of PVP that run on a set schedule. That lets people know the who, where, what, and when of world PVP outbreaks, which has previously always been the most challenging aspect to getting any going.
Vegetto asked:
So for my question is what do you think of a new hero class? What kind of class would you choose as the next one?
It really doesn't matter what I think as much as what Blizzard thinks. I know there's been discussion about adding a healing/DPS hero class, much like the death knight is tanking/DPS hero class. But I've also heard discussion of adding another pure DPS class (which I think isn't a good idea, given the general lack of understanding on hybrid vs. pure DPS output).
We'll find out for sure at BlizzCon 2011.
Coville asked:
Is there still plans to allow transferring our Bind on Battle.net account items to other realms? Most of my alts on Undermine do not need the gear, but I have some new alts on Icecrown that could.
It's not so much a matter of a plan as much as technical limitations right now. It's in the works at Blizzard, and I'd suspect we'll hear more about it in patch 4.3 or at BlizzCon.
The Dewd asked:
Has Blizzard ever said, or anyone ever worked out, where our trinkets are kept? Are they earrings? Some sort of bracelet? Just "junk" we keep in our pockets?
I was told once by someone at Blizzard that it was the stuff you keep in your pockets or your purse/briefcase -- I mean, man purse. I'm secure enough to say that.

Aw, Holisky's so riled up by pandas he comment failed. /comfort

"OMG!! Panda Expansion?! I love/hate Panda!"
Apparently some people view that as a Q4tQ. It's kind of hard to give multiple answers to questions that are actually much closer to exclamations.
Poleleboo Aug 4th 2011 12:33PM
When exactly did the bug fly up your bum Adam? I've never seen someone so quick to get pissy anytime someone voice an opinion that calls your column to question. I, for one, actually enjoy your Queues, but it sours your writer cred when I see your responses. If the comments are getting to you, maybe it's time to take a break until you can bubble yourself from them.
Dante Aug 4th 2011 12:35PM
Perhaps, you're the one missing the point, Adam. The OP's question was in reference to the "last few days," not specifically yesterday. You read what you wanted to read and snapped on someone who wasn't so much complaining as asking a question. Then, in your follow-up response, you claim that you're "not going to divulge what I've been told in strict confidence about the next expansion." Way to open the floodgates. Rather than even acknowledge any info on the next expansion, you might want to keep it to yourself. But you can't do that. You have some sort of psychological need to boast about some knowledge you claim to have that the larger WoW community does not. But the icing on the cake was "else you'll find yourself unable to comment here anymore." Brilliant. You might not have to answer to AOL about the editorial content of this here blog, but when you start dropping visitors, clicks, and ad revenue, you sure as Hell will be. Temper your attitude, Mr. Holisky. Outside of the WoW community, you're nobody. You're not as important as you think you are, so you might wanna drop the self-righteous BS.
Comment will be deleted and perma-ban incoming in 3... 2... 1...

There realy is not mutch to say about it. They had reasons for fileing it, there going to talk about it soon enough. and odds are that 99% of anything we guess about it right now will be dead wrong.
and if you realy wanted to know whats going on with Bliz you would have figured it out by now just from there other fileings and statments. They are going to go on making WoW for the forseable future.
As for a serious question, the impresion I have is that they are wanting to move to a "more balanced" release process (IE a slightly smaller "Big release" followed by more frequent slightly larger "content patches") or is that more or less a perpetual wish on there part?
Arrohon Aug 4th 2011 1:10PM
I agree that the deleted posts weren't worthy of being deleted but I agree with what Adam said. Sadly actions speak louder than words and I don't agree with his actions.

If they do add a new hero class - I think we have enough classes really - and they have problems balancing them, so why not just bring in a new race or two maybe - or even just concentrate on the content for the next expansion - and maybe some of the things they have 'promised' but never delivered (dance studio - maybe even think about player housing etc)
I just hope they dont open a new AH with '$' as its sign!
Bronwyn Aug 4th 2011 11:17AM
Or just make it so gnomes can be everything. That'd make ME happy *ducks*
Sinthar Aug 4th 2011 11:20AM
Hmmm all they really need to do is to add an emote for every other race, called /punt. That would make ME happy - and I play alliance!!!
viperdt51 Aug 4th 2011 11:23AM
I don't think that they would add more races so soon I mean they just added two this expansion and that was a lot of work in and of itself. I would hope they do bring another hero class into the mix and maybe they could learn from the mistakes they made with the DK class and the intro could be a little smoother. Or better yet how about a panda monk :) lol jk about the last part.

"Or just make it so gnomes can be everything. That'd make ME happy *ducks*"
No need to duck - we're the same height sitting down as standing up :-)
Seriously, we have warriors. We have priests. They owe us paladins. Tauren have them, why not us? Hunters as well - now that we've been kicked out of IF by the Dark Irons. Hey, a gnome's gotta eat! Druids & Shamans don't fit lore-wise, but Pallys and Hunters? Absolutely! C'mon, Blizz!
Dennis Aug 4th 2011 12:55PM
How about a hero class that does tank/healing, with a third tree for trolling on the chat lines.
Nevermind, we already have druids.
jordan Aug 4th 2011 1:23PM
Rather than hero classes they could make hero specializations for underrepresented classes. You know, Demon Hunter rogues and Necromancer warlocks.
Hollow Leviathan Aug 4th 2011 2:15PM
Whatever they do, they better add some damn extra character slots to each server's limit. 10 is not enough, even right now.
kmarcy1729 Aug 4th 2011 4:02PM
What if they combine the new hero class with the dance studio? "Dancemaster" ftw!
vocenoctum Aug 4th 2011 4:33PM
Seriously, it's time we got a caster that wears plate, just to compete with holy paladins for gear!
mdspurrier Aug 4th 2011 5:28PM
I know that Witch Doctors are primarily a troll thing (honestly I can't think of any other race that represents a witch doctor) but I've always thought they would be a great healing/dps Hero class.
Revnah Aug 4th 2011 11:04AM
*giggles in an undignified manner as she pictures a male Orc with a man purse*
Murdertime Aug 4th 2011 11:23AM
ON HIS NAME DAY, EVERY ORC IS SENT OUT TO WANDER THE WORLD! HE MAY NOT RETURN UNTIL HE HAS SLAIN A MIGHTY BEAST AND CRAFTED A BAG FROM IT'S HIDE, SO THAT HE MAY FOREVER BE ABLE TO CARRY THAT WHICH HE NEEDS TO LIVE!
DO NOT MOCK THE MIGHTY MAN PURSES OF THE TRUE SONS OF DRAENOR!
Arrohon Aug 4th 2011 11:55AM
I prefer the true orcish ways of painting your face with the blood of your kill. I'm not good at making things. Breaking? Yes. Making? Oh no.
