Breakfast Topic: What would you like to see implemented in WoW?

Today's Breakfast Topic is going to be very open, and I'm sure its comments will be extremely hectic ... so let's dig in! What would you like to see implemented in World of Warcraft? Anything. Anything. I'm not asking which achievements you think Blizzard should add, what mounts should come next, or what new abilities you would like to see (though you're entirely welcome to share those.) I am asking the very open and simple question: What would you like to see implemented in World of Warcraft? Period.
I understand this is a huge and potentially disastrously complex question, so maybe I'll get you guys started off. I would like to see a vanity/cosmetic set appearance tab. I would like to see a title for having 40+ titles (as seen in my first-ever Breakfast Topic.) I would like to see more gold sinks and more passenger mounts!
Share your ideas! What would you like to see implemented? Achievements? Mounts? Titles? Pets? Abilities? Weapons? Armor? Graphics? Professions? Monsters? Bosses? Raids? Zones? Items? Roleplaying aids? A new system? Races? Classes? Anything! It doesn't have to be on that list. Simply post your heart's desire about the #1 thing you think Blizzard should add to its already huge and open-ended World of Warcraft.

After farming some low level dungeons for an alt's tailoring, I would say AoE looting. If RIFT can do it, WoW can!
...That and playable Dark Rangers/Necromancers. I loved them in WC3.

aoe looting would be awesome! I do a lot of cloth farming using my pally to help out my priest, being able to just click one thing and loot the pile of sparklies would be great.

In Mass Effect, you don't have to loot at all. When you kill someone who drops loot, you get a "New items" alert, and you hit I to open up the box, and and click "Take all", to loot it.
This becomes a problem when the game by default only lets you have 250 items. And when your inventory is full, it does NOT let you open it up and get rid of old items when that box is up. So if an upgrade drops for you, and your inventory is full, you are screwed. Your only choices are "destroy", and "Convert to Omnigel."

Aye, and a wardrobe appearance tab. Again this is already in Rift.

Wait, what? You use your pally to farm cloth for your tailor priest? You do realize that your priest gets (lots of) extra cloth from Northrend tailoring, making it extremely inefficient to farm on a toon that's not a tailor - right?

SWTOR does it too.

I'd like to see more good news, everyone, implemented!
adyuaa Aug 8th 2011 8:33AM
I read this at first as "More good news," with which I am in complete agreement. I need to stop reading the official forums and start reading more Wowinsider comment threads - it's so much more positive!
I am not against more "Good news, everyone!" however. Seriously hilarious.

Guild halls. Period.
MattKrotzer Aug 8th 2011 8:36AM
This. Personal housing might be a bit excessive and break up what little sense of community exists within WoW, but guild housing would be a wonderful thing to add that could actually HELP guilds to come together and grow stronger.

If only you knew the history of guild halls with Blizzard games.
Back when Diablo 2 was in development, one of the features mentioned was guild halls and arenas. Both were dropped for time and because they "couldn't get them right just yet", and both were said to be something that might be added later. They never were.
Go to the WoW alpha, and both player housing and guild halls are being tested. (The house on GM Island, and the Ravenholdt manor are both guild hall models.) Both are dropped.
If you played Diablo back in the day, it's a frustrating thing.

Asheron's Call has both personal and guild housing (called Guild Mansions) and both worked very well with a rent system and decorating with items both personal and quest items. I know it's a different game and all, but seeing how they did it could help figure out WoW could do it. AC was a long time before WoW too!

Blizzard could achieve guild housing by making it a single structure that is phased to members of each guild. That way, you could have it decorated in guild tabard colors and there could be a "wall" featuring guild achievements.

YES! First thing I thought of.
Guild Housing / Hall / Mansion could offer amenities such as:
- Repair Vendors / Inn benefits (rested XP, Heirloom purchases, food & buff vendors)
- Tabard "Closets"
- Bank / AH Access
- Maybe an "Auto-Craft" desk - if a person with a skill is currently in-game, the desk will craft that item for you as if that person was in the hall.
- A "Summon here" portal - call anyone to the hall
- Fun upgrades - a lounge, bar area with bartender, sleeping quarters, armory (showing off Legendary weapons that the guild has).
- Message board
These amenities could be purchases, like bank tabs, or earned via guild levels.
The list goes on...

Just flat-out copy City of Heroes/Villains' supergroup bases. They hit on all the right ideas.
Guild storage, crafting stations, portals, decorated with items gained from accolades (achievements) highlighting your kills and progress.

I would love to see this happen. It could aslo open up a new type of interior design profession that could be used as a secondary like fishing and first aid. So a tailor could pick this up and make tapestries that can be displayed with the guild logo, or some epic battle that a recipie falls off a boss. A leatherworker - furniture. Blacksmith - guild vaults, fireplaces, or iron maidens if thats your thing. The list can just go on an on with this.
Even having sigle player housing for those who don't want to be in guilds would be nice. Also having the option of having a friends list of those who can access your house.
And one thing (I'm stealing this idea from EQ2) I always enjoyed was these special lore quests that once you finished them it gave you items to display in your house.
allsopp1 Aug 8th 2011 4:41PM
Yes, I really like the idea of adding personal houses, plus an additional secondary profession, interior design. A number of other MMORGs have this already, and it is a success all round.

My personal guild Hall is the Tauren District in Orgrimar. All my friends and future customers hang out there. I'm so nice I don't even charge rent (yet)! But we all know, truly, it's my space. Who do you think paid for Kaja to relocate? Me. I get a cut of her repair fees. And the wood from the Tauren Totem Pole Bank? I 'donated' it from the stash I got from Ashenvale. If you look close you can see the night elf blood that I had painted over.
I'm a Goblin Bank Alt and I approve this message.

@Kenny: No. Player housing did not help Asheron's Call. It killed cities. Before DM, cities like Qalab'r would be packed. You'd have to hide inside buildings to avoid getting portal stormed. After housing? Ghost towns. Basically overnight.

Cosmetic armor. I worked had for my Field Marshal's Aegis and I like to wear it.
Makes me feel like a true Paladin of the Alliance.
