WoW Moviewatch: Airships
Emmaskar was inspired to create her own video called Airships: a WoW Machinima. It's her very first machinima, and I think she did an amazing job. The views and shots of Azeroth in this video are beautiful, and her song selection was perfectly suited to the whimsical, thoughtful scenes. Best of all, the whole thing was put together from in-game footage.
I can't say how exciting it is to see new people pick up the art of machinima. While we're seeing new videos all the time, it's critically important that new fans join the hobby. It's the only way we can thrive as a community. Emmaskar's work looks promising; I hope she enjoyed the experience enough to keep trying.

Ah.... well.... hmmm. Look, I wanted to like it, I love that section of Howling Fjord. But pacing issues went from bad to worse. One wave at the airship was enough... but three? Best moment was the cut when the hawkstrider jumped off the cliff and became a flameward hippogryph. WTB more edits, more good joins like that one.

I -wanted- to do one longer wave, but I was limited by the emote, where the arm MUST go down before I can wave again. I'm not entirely happy with that part of the video myself. I now realize I should have edited the footage to MAKE it one long wave, but I didn't think of that at the time.
Live and learn, right?
Also, RE:pacing, yeah, I know it's not the best. Again, first video, I promise to get better! And I'm really proud of that cut from Hawkstrider to Hippogryph. :) I'm sure the cuts and edits will get better the more I learn about iMovie, too, or experiment with other programs.
Thanks for the feedback!

Makes me want to go through all my Northrend screenies / videos with this song playing.
Loved the scenery shots, the only thing I disliked was the 4 or so waves.. just little things like that seemed.. odd?

Awesome, I love it. I *was* going to suggest adjusting the time in a couple of places to extend how long a wave is, but I see above you've already thought of that. If you really want to get sophisticated (i.e. obsess and put too much time into minor things lol), there's a couple of places where the video is choppy that could probably also be smoothed out a bit using similar tricks.

Yeah, I've figured out how to make the zooming go much smoother, that was another bit I wasn't real happy with. These are things you don't think about at 4 in the morning!
There's a little bit of choppiness in the hawkstrider ride, too - that was, I think, my framerate dropping while shooting. I didn't notice it until I was playing the final video, too late to cut/redo the clip.
Thanks for the feedback!
