Breakfast Topic: Design your own level 90 spell or ability

In every expansion, all the classes get a few new abilities. Surely next year, the level cap will be 90 or higher, so there are more opportunities for your favorite class to become overpowered! What idea would you like to see implemented as a new ability for your class of choice?
Try and keep it realistic, please. I'm sure Blizzard won't give rogues an insta-kill ability that is only usable with 5 combo points -- at least, I hope not -- but maybe it could add a new move that would have a 5% chance per combo point at one-shotting enemies more than 5 levels below you. I don't really play a rogue, so I'm sure that idea sounds outrageous to all you sneaky stealthers out there -- but that is why I am asking your opinion!
I know my holy paladin would love an AOE heal that isn't on a cooldown or has limited resources. Maybe a spell that drops a huge surge of healing light on a location, similar to the druid's Hurricane spell, but only one tick of healing that is spammable. Doesn't sound too overpowered to me ... but I might be biased.
So share up! Let us know your ideas in the comments, and who knows? Maybe Blizzard will read it and be inspired enough to implement.

Blood DK : show us a graphical blood shield for starters
Amanda A. Aug 10th 2011 2:15PM
I used power auras to put a bubble effect over my DK when he has a shield up but an in game one would be so much more awesome!

I'd settle for pets that acted properly.
Noyou Aug 10th 2011 9:33AM
That. Just that.

What about extra stances - say a single target stance, where it won't ever switch at all, and a multi-target stance, where it moves on at a certain percentage (say, Kill-shot percentage), and another multi-target stance where it moves on at more of an absolute number (such as if the next ability the pet uses is more likely to be overkill than not). Maybe the UI would become crowded. Maybe it's time to have multiple pet bars.

"Undying Fury": When dealt a killing blow, the warrior keeps fighting for 10 seconds before finally succumbing to his wounds.
Might have to nerf the time for pvp purposes, but I think that would be awesome in pve
"Armed and Ready": your Mortal Strikes have a chance to enable a no-global-cooldown, instant, no minimum ranged shot from your ranged weapon. A critical strike from this attack will retrigger the effect.
Coco Aug 10th 2011 8:11AM
that second ability was for the arms tree
Ace Aug 10th 2011 9:47AM
For "Undying Fury", maybe have a 50% decreased movement speed tacked onto that. The guy is on the verge of death and probably only stumbling. This would give a bit of pvp nerf as well as it would be easier to just run out of melee range so he couldn't hit you.

So you basically want warriors to have Tryndamere's ult?
I'm actually okay with this.

I really like the first idea. You could even do a twist on it where, say, he pops back to 25% health and bleeds out his health at an increasing rate. He can be healed, but he's going to die eventually, so healers can either let nature take its course or dump their mana to delay the inevitable. Your idea sounds like it would probably be better and easier to implement, but just throwing out other ideas.
Also the movement speed debuff that Ace mentioned seems to make sense.
Coco Aug 10th 2011 1:58PM
The movement debuff would be good, but there is still the matter of charge and intercept. Perhaps the effect uses all your cooldowns when you hit 0% health, that way you couldn't run in and global someone with your dying breath.
idea!
"Dying Breath" ability - creates a poison cloud effect where warrior dies! jk...

huh, very much liking. Good for a tank that needs just a little bit longer to live. The movement speed debuff sounds nice, being unable to use charge/intercept/intervene when this affect kicks in also would be nice to add balance (I could see much abuse of it in PvP otherwise.) Tanks already have "Last Stand" which is poorly named at this point because a tank rarely uses it as his last stand but rather to buff the healing done by enranged regen. "Undying Fury" sounds like a fun thing.

enhancement shaman ability:
Water Form Totem
2 minute cooldown
Summon a water totem that allows the shaman to teleport anywhere within a 40 yard distance around the totem. lasts for 30 sec.
This totem cannot be destroyed.
Damien Aug 10th 2011 8:11AM
they should give every class a "gtfo mage" button imo
glyakk Aug 10th 2011 8:13AM
I I would love the ability to carry at least one totem, or to at least keep the effects of recently placed totems on the shaman for the duration of the totem, even if they are picked back up.. Blizzard has come a long way to help us Shaman become more mobile, but we are still limited to the 30yrd range of our totems to get the most out of the class.
razion Aug 10th 2011 8:25AM
That actually sounds pretty neat--have the totem carried on your back for the duration of the totem, but only one at a time. I like this idea, as it seems like something we've had tauren shamans doing for a while now anyway, and could really shake-up shaman PvP. A good shaman could juggle totems around the field, potentially keeping their totems in range without ever having to drop down a new set.
Zenith Aug 10th 2011 8:43AM
Totem hat FTW! At least for all races except goblins..
Nick Aug 10th 2011 9:01AM
Even better, maybe a shield variant where instead of lightning or water, we have a selectable totem flying around us (or more than one).
Tovin Aug 10th 2011 10:31AM
This is a good idea...and why not include it with something else Shaman are known for: using a caster shield on the off hand.
Just as we have WEAPON IMBUES, it would be very cool if we could affix or imbue one of our totems to our shield!
joshychrist Aug 10th 2011 2:25PM
Totem bar now imbues your relic with the four totems of your choice until totem effect is canceled or replaced except in the case of magma fire totems and well with the elemental totems
so basically just the buff totems could be imbued onto the relic
