Blizzard drops "Glimpses" screenshot with 3 unknown NPCs -- possible patch or expansion hint?

The above picture titled "Glimpses" was just posted on Blizzard's Facebook page. It shows ethereals hanging out, offering arcane reforging, transmogrification, and "void storage," whatever that is.
We don't know where this is from, and the picture is presented by Blizzard with the comment, "Interesting." So we know it's a glimpse at something coming up. What could that be? It's possibly related to patch 4.3 or the next expansion. And on that note, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibilities for Blizzard to start dropping hints for the next expansion now.
Our staff picked up that it's a generic Stormwind building right away. In fact, the NPC and layout looks very similar to Cordell's Enchanting in the Mages District in Stormwind; that's pictured below. Obviously, the doodads and room decorations are different, but the layout and NPC spacing are the same.

Oh guys, what do you hope for? This is not image of building in Stormwind. This building will be in Theramore. Void Storage is bank, Transmogrifier is barber, and Arcane Reforeger is... Arcane Reforger. So why bother with strange renaming? Because Etherals will provide better interface design, cooler materials and new multiclicking ability for a jaw-dropp... erm, reasonable price. Why Theramore? To promote an air of elitism and return some of vanilla WoW features by player request, particularly long and meaningless trips and extensive boat traveling.

Barber.. hmm....interesting .... wait! WHAT?!
Etheral barber to barb etherals... what? To trim their ... bandages and curl their ... ether?
:D

Interesting

"Void Storage"?
This looks like on of three things to me:
a) Something to do with Twisting Nether (Ethereals, "void")
b) Something to do with cross-realm, cross-faction storage.
b) Something that will link battle.net games in more than just chat features, i.e. trade items between D3 and WoW (Transmogrifier, void again)
Dril Aug 11th 2011 12:52PM
To clarify: a) would be a major theme of a patch or expansion, b) would be a *feature* of a patch or expansion and c) would be a glimpse at the future when the new SC2 Expac and D3 come out.

While it WOULD be cool if you could "share" items between D3 and WoW, I'd be pretty dang annoyed if they spent that much effort to share between two different games before I can share my heirlooms between two different servers within the same game!!

Hmmmm. My Death Knight wants to wield 2 AzureWrath! A dream come true!

"Vaultkeeper" is an interesting title, but if it had something to do with existing bank space wouldn't they be in the bank? It could be to store gear sets perhaps. The next guy, "Warpweaver" is very interesting. Warp could indicate time, weaving = changing? Could be as someone else posted changing all your armor to look like a past gear set. Putting those two together along with the reforger makes sense. All 3 would have to do with gear. Perhaps it would store up to 5-6 sets? The fact that they are ethereal could be relevant or not.

It's the long awaited appearance tab.
Daedalus Aug 11th 2011 2:13PM
@Dave:
Screw that, my gnomish warlock wants a 5-4 Armored Infantry Suit and a 330mm Barrage Cannon.
Oh, and a Viking A2 Armored Mechanical Hybrid mount, if that'll fit.

New playable race????
Adam Aug 11th 2011 1:31PM
Probably not. Everyone's guess that it has to do with sending battle.net items to other realms is probably most accurate. Why else would they have changed the heirloom items to say binds to battle.net account rather than just leaving it as account bound if they didn't intend on you being able to use them across your entire account.
cloudhopper013 Aug 11th 2011 7:03PM
Actually, if Pandaren were to become playable, the only way to prevent outrage from the side that didn't get them would be to give them Ethereals, possibly the only equally-badass and wanted and loved race to the Pandaren.
Well, not equally, but it's the closest fit.
So there's something for your brain to munch on.
farseer-lolotea Aug 12th 2011 8:54PM
@ cloudhopper013: I'd guess that there are just as many people who HATE pandaren as love them and think that they're "badass," and far more people who don't give a damn. Ditto ethereals.
dogin8tr Aug 11th 2011 12:54PM
Well this is... interesting.

I'm wondering what "transmogrification" and "void storage" is. Transmogrification sounds like some kind of new profession.
Jonathan Aug 11th 2011 12:55PM
Transmogrification is shape changing. Presumably, he's a barber Npc.
duskhawk Aug 11th 2011 12:58PM
Transmogrifying is generally a change in appearance; perhaps we will finally be able to change the look of items? It would make sense to put the NPC for that next to the NPC for changing stats.
Perhaps Void Storage is long term storage for old armor sets, etc.? Perhaps with a gold-based fee for deposit/withdrawal? (These *are* ethereals, after all, who are like goblins in their commerce-drivenness.)
It would be kind of cool if the Consortium were to show up as active allies again.
Kole Aug 11th 2011 1:02PM
Wasn't there data mining a while back in regards to changing the colors of armor with dyes, etc? Maybe this is it...
relmatos Aug 11th 2011 1:05PM
Transmogrification is like shapeshifting.
My idea of Transmogrification is that it's permanent which makes me think that it's a way to race change in game.
My guess, this is more Premium content and blizzard will expect money to open the door the gives you access to these npcs.
