I don't know why this was down-rated as much as it was. Most kids I've known who were home schooled and coddled by "well meaning" overprotective parents ended up ill prepared for the real world once they left the nest and went to college, etc. There are social norms that you simple have to learn the hard way. I think we've try to shy away from that in modern society. For all we know, the parent in question may be referring to "medical problems" as "I keep my kid jacked on Ritalin because I can't deal with him being loud."

Flame on, Ritalin kids.
