Phat Loot Phriday: Alysra's Razor

"This is a knife from a burning bird in the Firelands," Throgg said. "Very agile weapon, very fast and expert blade. See? It even has a place for a pretty yellow gem."
"Leave me alone," the blood elf whispered. "You're making me do this. I don't want to. Magic isn't so bad, it doesn't hurt anyone."
"I know," Throgg said. "I'm sorry for this pain. It will get better, and you will feel better. I will make all of this up to you, I promise."
Lolegolas lurched, rolling over to the side of the bed. Throgg quickly yanked a bucket under the elf's head and pulled his hair back. "Go ahead. This is not the nastiest thing I've ever done."
Lolegolas couldn't respond, as he was busy vomiting.

Every time I see "Alysrazor", I think of Airazor from Beast Wars.

Oh oh oh oh ohhhhhhhhh oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh caught in a rad bromance

Haste and expertise seems a poor combination - combat and subtlety would prefer crit/expertise, and assassination would prefer haste/mastery. I guess Blizzard attempted to itemize it so as to be useful to either spec. Ultimately it could have resilience and dodge on there and it'd still get used, though - rogues can't be picky when it comes to offhand daggers. There's not exactly much to pick from in a given tier!

Haste and expertise is actually perfectly itemized for Combat. Crit remains low man on the totem pole. This dagger is BIS for Combat normal, and the heroic version is BIS altogether.
Cyno01 Aug 12th 2011 2:36PM
No, haste is very desirable for sub, more so than crit, at least for PVE
Rajah Aug 12th 2011 2:52PM
Haste/expertise is an excellent combination for combat rogues. Crit is combat's least desirable stat.

While this will make the BiS list for combat, by now we are all easily expertise (and hit) capped. Regardless, this beats Entrail Disgorger by a mile for compat spec.

Maybe Lolegolas shouldn't have had those beers that Throgg went to get in the previous episode.

Now that's friendship. :)

You know it's not true friendship/love unless they'll hold your hair back while you vomit :)

"The blood elf stared into the bowl thoughtfully. "Seconds. Minutes at the most. It doesn't take long. The addiction doesn't go away for a reason. It's very fast, very strong. Once this passes my lips, my body will remember the magic. With this much infusion, you'll easily see me from down there." Lolegolas set the bowl down. "He will be very unhappy with me for this."
Maribel Aug 12th 2011 6:05PM
He's being pretty understanding about it, no matter what Lolegolas was expecting.
MusedMoose Aug 12th 2011 8:02PM
What Maribel said. Also, Throgg can be upset at Lolegolas and still want to take care of him. These guys have clearly been through too much to stop being friends over something like this. Odds are good that once Lolegolas has overcome his addiction problems, Throgg will give him a good ol' orc sock in the jaw, and say something like "Don't ever even THINK of doing that again." And that'll be it, they'll go on to more adventures. ^_^

Has anyone else noticed that there are four agility daggers that can drop in Firelands? It might just be me, but that seems like a really high number of weapons useable by only one class for a tier with only seven bosses.
(Not to mention the agility 1h sword pattern that was given to blacksmiths who do Molten Front dailies.)
Cyno01 Aug 12th 2011 2:43PM
Considering there were only 4 daggers last tier we'll call it even. And of those 4, one dropped off an end boss, one dropped off trash in an instance with hardly any trash and one is a rare drop from junkboxes that have to be pickpocketed.
Still using the ridiculous giant troll OH...
Revynn Aug 12th 2011 2:57PM
I haven't looked at the stats on these daggers, but for a Hunter upgrading from a 346 polearm/staff, a pair of 378 agility daggers wouldnt be a terrible prospect.
It's not the Randeur by any stretch, but it's still an option if your luck with drops is horrendous.

He ATE a (sharded?) Symbiotic Worm first, absorbing the magic from it to empower his attacks. The Arcane Torrent was only his opening shot at the Grimtotem.
scartian.wow Aug 12th 2011 3:49PM
Meh. This dagger pales in comparison to Entrail Disgorger. I was quite lucky, i got both shared boss loot daggers within a week of one another and both are better than Entrail Disgorger and Feeding Frenzy.
Calicia Aug 12th 2011 3:56PM
I'm missing Not Spot. :-(
Maribel Aug 12th 2011 6:08PM
That's one long fishing trip.
Then again, I'd stay in Uldum for a long time too if I risked being put on vomit-bucket duty when I came back.
