"Almost every time these freak-outs are blown out of proportion by people like you"A single incident, one thing. Repeated privacy violations, is another.I guess you are so used to using Facebook, you can't take any criticism of it. How about reading up on the TOS? How about even after closing your account, they still stored your data indefinitly? It took a public shitstorm to even change a slight bit of that. How many times does a policy have to fuck over it's users before you notice? Is it when the violation is so big your ID is stolen, is that when you draw the line? How about this, how many games do I have to ignore features of because the company is so damn in love with Facebook, they start integrating features based on it?Do you know the shitstorm that hit the StarCraft 2 beta when they removed the regular friends list, and restricting adding friends in only two ways, Facebook friends, or Real ID? Do you know the real reason why Blizzard was going to force real names on the forums? Because they had a deal with Facebook (this is not rumor, this is flat-up available knowledge from the investors call, and the StarCraft 2 beta), and wanted the forums to fit in with real names.Facebook is another MySpace. A trendy site which will eventually die, leaving a few people hanging on refusing to go to the next big thing like all their friends have done. And the pieces leftover of all it's integration with everything will leave holes everywhere. Excuse me if the latest and greatest thing for people to (mostly) gloat about how many meaningless "friends" they can acquire combined with the douchebag, scummy money-hungry company combined with the shady business tactics combined with the privacy rights-violations doesn't It has it's uses, sure, but for a good number of people, it's another flash in the pan that's simply an annoyance, and the amount of companies that do the "want to enter a contest? want to enter a contest for a beta? want to (insert thing which used to be available on their website) then like us on Facebook!" thing is annoying as hell, too."Both of them", I thought you were referring to the guy who let the quote slip. A quote is a quote. The guy's known to be a douchebag, 19 or not.
