Oh, hi there. I know you're probably expecting Amanda Miller, but you're getting me instead this week. I loved reading the Sunday funnies while I was growing up. My favorites were Calvin and Hobbes and Bloom County. Needless to say, The Daily Blink this week managed to simultaneously cause a fit of laughter, a wave of nostalgia, a sudden urge to dig up my old Calvin and Hobbes collections.

Yep, anyone who didn't immediately have Calvin and Hobbes flashbacks upon seeing "Transmogrifier," is not a worthwhile human being.

With the exception of scenes dealing with other characters, and a handful of panels, the "joke" of the ape going crazy on Teh Gladiators has gotten really, really old. How much can you rely on the same joke? 6, 7 months?
It's gone from a good comic to one that retreads the same joke over and over again. I understand it's hard to run a continuous storyline after you've done several, especially considering the comic was never meant to be more than a one-shot deal anyway (from the creators) but this new twist seems to just redo the same jokes over and over again.
1. Valiant is an idiot, and constantly gets lost.
2. The ape destroys everything.
3. Every other character is angry, and beats everyone else up.

It's sad that people think Bill Watterson invented the word "transmogrify". Bloom County? I'd wager all you could do is look at the pretty pictures and laugh at jokes you don't understand and wonder who all those political figures they reference are.
