I know exactly what you mean, I /cry whenever I get into a random with a DK tank. Their health is always bouncing up and down, so I waste a lot of mana thinking I have an emergency only to have them heal themselves back to full a second before my Serendipity-bomb goes off.
Fortunately, the post made it sound like other tanks wouldn't be getting self-heals, but mitigation abilities to use instead (except maybe WoG, they didn't make that one very clear).
As a healer myself, I like the idea of this. This means that if I have an undergeared tank who needs bomb heals at the beginning of every pull, I'm not pulling a whole pack off of them to keep them up. Also, I won't have to worry about fighting to keep them up while trying to keep the stupid DPS alive, because survivability will be partially the tank's responsibility. I understand that the idea of a group is that tanks take the hits, healers keep everyone alive, and DPS pewpews, but I think part of the responsibility of taking the hits should be having abilities to make those hits not hurt so much.
Of course, I think it -sounds- good, but if a tank is bad now, chances are good they won't be privy to these changes and I'll still get blamed for tank deaths because they aren't using their mitigation abilities or the right rotation, etc.
