I personally disagree with Daniel about the pop culture stuff, as well as the lore stuff. But that's what makes this community so great!
But I do have questions for Mr. Whitcomb
1. Shouldn't the draenei also be considered evil, at least to Varian Wrynn? After all, Garona is half-Draenei.
2. Shouldn't Varian have a problem with the night elves? After all, it was their race that goes and basically caused the problems Azeroth faces. Then they pull a hypocritical about face and welcome the arcane back into their fold...

Varian doesn't know about Garona being half Draenei, nor about the War of the Ancients.

The thing is, neither the Draenei or the Night Elves have recently engaged in a continous campaign to destroy the Alliance and take their lands. Garona was acting as an agent of the Horde (mind controlled or not, the only Orc Varian ever trusted killed his father in front of him, under orders from the Orcish Horde), and the Night Elves, for all their faults, have never harmed the Alliance, and in fact have spent the last 10,000 years on a vigil to protect the world, and are currently fighting enemies that the rest of the Alliance shares in the Horde. If the Orcs want to claim they've atoned for their sins, they should look at what the Night Elves did to atone for what only a small portion of their race did!
