Again, with the (partial) demise of the silhouette theory, perhaps not all of a race will depart a faction--remaining Horde Tauren would then be Grimtotem-aligned, for instance. That way you only lose a capital city if you faction-shift.

I'm dreaming really big here--some races could conceivably have a new capital-big dreaming. I don't want to split off friends/teams/guilds/RPers at all, but a three-faction dynamic would be an interesting shakeup.
