I like that they've taken the bag search feature from add-ons and are integrating it into the main game.

Many improvements to the default UI started out as addons. Devs at Blizzard do notice which addons are popular!

It's not uncommon for Blizz to incorporate popular addons into the default UI in some fashion. Actually, it was a genius move on their part to allow addons to be used in their game. They've basically employed hundreds of coders at no cost, the players "test" the programs extensively in game, and Blizzard can cherry pick the best/most popular ones (or at least the concepts behind them) and incorporate them into the game.
