I know that when I'm leveling toons (which I've been doing with more alts recently) most of what sits in my bank is a handful of gear items I want to keep, either as trophies or whatever, and crafting mats. It's the ore I've farmed but don't need for blacksmithing yet - or the extra leather I've skinned that won't make its way to the AH until it's a full stack. My bank slow fills up - until by time I'm running high-end dungeons and then raids it's closer to being full. The only "problem" I can see for this is for people who artificially set the level cap below 85, like those classic raiders who are level 60 and only do MC/BWL/AQ - they aren't going to have access to a lot of gold - though they aren't going to need to store more than, what, 3 or 4 gear sets in their banks? Most people don't keep every single pair of boots/gloves/etc they've gotten. I know a lot of Paladins who keep every shield they've ever used, or at least all the good looking ones that they've used for more than a few hours. I have more than a whole row in my Paladin's bank - but most people just vendor any/all outgrown gear, other than the ones that have really exceptional graphics.
