The Daily Quest: Scientific progress goes "Boink"
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
See that screenshot? That is my bank before patch 4.3. After patch 4.3, I will have bank space again -- and no idea what to do with it all. I am crying, Blizzard. Tears (and tiers) of joy.
Speaking of that upcoming patch, I'm also looking forward to being able to wear all that gear without wearing that gear -- as in, using that new transmogrification feature that was just announced. Will it be expensive? Oh, I'm sure it will be. It's OK. I've been saving my gold for just such an occasion. Speaking of transmogrification, we've got a few reactions to the news, courtesy of the blogosphere.

- Shattered Beginnings is excited about the changes and shares some screenshots of tier sets from days gone by.
- I think it's safe to say that Big Bear Butt is also excited by the changes and looking forward to gathering gear.
- The Suicidal Zebra points out a handy place to go in order to look up info for tier lookalikes.
- Warcraft Hunters Union points out that transmogrification is cosmetic only and what that means for excited hunters.
- Blessing of Kings thinks perhaps past looks are meant to remain in the past.

Calvin and Hobbes makes me happy...

All I need to do is use the Transmogrifier and I'm safe...
EaterOfBirds Aug 19th 2011 6:47PM
warm and fuzzy. much like Hobbes.

I was tempted to write a post about how groundbreaking Transmogrification is for feral druids.
/cough
Still, I like the idea... just for characters other than my main.

Love the lookalikes on The Suicidal Zebra! Go check 'em out! I'm pretty excited about getting me some "Tier 1" pieces.

Credit goes to The Daily Blink for this... right? (In addition to Calvin and Hobbes, obviously)

I just love the fact that not only did they use the word "Transmogrification", the verb for it is being shortened to "mog". I get Calvin & Hobbes *and* Final Fantasy 6 references at the same time. This makes me happy.
In short: Scientific Progress goes "Kupo!"

Reading around on the internet, I've found that apparently my pally is the only one who will not be rocking t2. Apparently, I'm weird. ;)
Daniel Whitcomb Aug 19th 2011 7:38PM
I know a few Paladins who plan to rock t6, so there's that!
Al Aug 19th 2011 7:49PM
T2 Prot, T9 Ret, I'm thinking for my guy.
HappyTreeDance Aug 19th 2011 8:05PM
Oddly, I'll probably use T9 for my pally as well. Even though I got sick of looking at it during Wrath because EVERYONE had it, it really does work well with the whole "blood knight" thing, and it looks great with that tabard! If I can get the tanky boots from ToC10, I'll definitely do it. There's a Cata rep belt that matches the colors perfectly, so I never have to wear a WWE style belt again. Pair that with Twinblade of the Phoenix, and I'll be happy. :)

Blessing of Kings thinks perhaps "past looks" are meant to "remain in the past". Well if the new art was even half as nice as old tiers no onewould change. Since WOtLK came out, gear art has been quite ugly (not even going to metion how ugly weapons are drawn ( present included)).
DragonFireKai Aug 19th 2011 8:01PM
YMMV.
Personally, I think some of the cataclysm gear has looked amazing. Paladin, rogue, and warrior T12 look awesome, Druid, mage, and DK T11 are great, and there have been some great weapon models. The Soul Blade, Akirus, The Hammer of Twilight, Dragonwrath.
Far better than the clown suits we had to wear in BC.

I amend my statement from last night about the Void Space.
That is a lot of crap.
It'll be useful to you, that's for sure. Though...I suspect a Tabard Storage would be just as useful.

I did a happy dance inside when I read this article title. Calvin and Hobbes brings back good memories.
Philster043 Aug 20th 2011 1:45AM
My bank looks like that as well. I'll be happy when 4.3 hits too!
jaminwarcraft Aug 20th 2011 2:38AM
Thank you for the feature. Privileged :)
Also, I am also a collector of gear and such. So this space will benefit me well! I can see my gold going down the plug some time soon.. (4.3)
Nice to see some different reactions to the news,

Alsongside that previous comment, I have also made a follow up post where I have constructed some speculation. Based around the Deathwing fight and the idea of 'enchant customisation'
