This is easy to overlook because of how Vol'Jin is characterized, but by recruiting Zanzil as part of his latest scheme, Jin'do the Hexxer decided to harbor the witch doctor who killed Vol'Jin's son and tried to enslave the young troll's soul. This comes up in quests in both the old and new versions of Northern Stranglethorn.
The loss of Yenniku probably would have been foremost on Vol'Jin's mind when he was standing at that campfire in the Patch 4.1 trailer. That the Darkspear Chieftain never mentions his personal vendetta toward Zul'Gurub out loud reinforces the idea of Vol'Jin as the "still waters run deep" type.

Yenniku wasn't Vol'jin's son, unless something got retconned or you're referring to something else...

Yenniku was definitely kin to Sen'jin and Vol'jin somehow...but Lore isn't clear how.

The questgiver does a lot to emphasize that his tribe is the Darkspear and this is his chief's kid. Unless the Darkspear have a bunch of little chiefs we don't know about...
