Eh ... not a fan of Tyrande. Haven't been since she slaughtered the Wardens to release Illidan. Maiev has my allegiance forever. The guilty shall suffer!

I'm surprised and disappointed that this summary completely glossed over this important point: Tyrande didn't just free Illidan, she slaughtered her own people, people who'd been charged with guarding this person *she* had established as a dangerous prisoner who could not go free.

To me, this event established Tyrande as a leader who cares only about immediate expedience, not about loyalty or the long view. If something can help her with a challenge she faces right this second, she doesn't care who else it harms, either at the moment or in the future. This view of her also seems to be borne out with her willingness to allow the Highborne to rejoin the Night Elves, even to the extent of creating new Night Elf Mages.
