Good coverage, although I too find Tyrande to be inconsistent. She's pretty ruthless in WCIII, but her character is so different in WoW. Then again, so are the Nelfs.
Shame this article couldn't be postponed to include some coverage of the short story just released as well.

There isn't anything to cover. Tyrande just plays second fiddle in her own story, doing nothing while Malfurion casts the Victory Spell. At least Shandris got a fight scene, but again--not her story.

The Nelfs (and Tyrande by extension) are different in Wow for the purposes of game mechanics, everything else indicates that their culture is still pretty much the same as it has always been outside of Wow (insular and xenophobic)
