In a couple circles I run in, the concept of an elevator speech has come to the forefront lately. If you aren't familiar with the concept, the idea of an elevator speech is that it's something you can use to inform someone about something in the space of around 30 seconds or so -- that is, something you can tell them in the space of an elevator ride. It's most commonly used to pitch an idea, product, service, or organization. Today, I thought it might be fun to figure out one for WoW.

Sure, there are more than 10 million people who play the game, but there are even more people who don't play it and may have little to no idea of what it's about. So let's say you meet one of those people, and the topic of your WoW playing comes up. Maybe they say, "Oh, I've never heard of that game. What's it like?" How do you respond?

Here's my first try at a WoW elevator speech:

"World of Warcraft is a game in which people of all ages and walks of life from all over the world come together to socialize while testing their skill against each other and a computer by fighting monsters in a medieval fantasy world."

It's short and rough, of course, but sometimes that's the point of an elevator speech. What about you? What's your WoW elevator speech?
