Meet Murkablo, the BlizzCon 2011 exclusive pet
BlizzCon 2011 attendees and live stream purchasers will receive a gift this year of Murkablo, an in-game companion pet resembling the fearsome Diablo, main antagonist in the third game bearing his name. From the included screenshot, Murkablo appears to burn characters with fearsome, fiery breath.
Along with Murkablo, players will receive an as-of-yet unrevealed StarCraft 2 in-game gift. You can still purchase the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket at the site for $39.99, which gives you four channels, panels, game tournaments, the contests, and more, without actually having to run from panel to panel like we will be doing.
Ever since Murkablo was datamined, players had been wondering if Murkablo was going to be this year's BlizzCon exclusive pet or a pack-in companion for Diablo 3's inevitable collector's edition. Since BlizzCon pets are usually of the murloc variety, it was a safe bet that Murkablo would be our new best friend come BlizzCon 2011.

An ill omen streaks across the sky over Azeroth's Great Sea, heralding the arrival of this year's BlizzCon-exclusive World of Warcraft in-game companion: the fearsome-ish Murkablo, aquatic protégé of Diablo III's eponymous Lord of Terror! Anyone who attends BlizzCon 2011 or purchases this year's BlizzCon Virtual Ticket will receive a Murkablo to call their own, along with a yet-to-be-revealed StarCraft II in-game gift.
BlizzCon 2011 takes place on October 21 and 22 at the Anaheim Convention Center. If you order the Virtual Ticket Internet stream online through Battle.net, Murkablo and the StarCraft II gift will be automatically attached to the Battle.net account you use to make your purchase shortly after BlizzCon begins. DIRECTV customers who order the BlizzCon Pay Per View event will receive a code granting access to the Internet stream and the in-game gifts via email.
For further details or to order the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, check out the Virtual Ticket web page.

Love the animation.

Another year, another murloc. He'll fit well into my collection!
Broken-toes Aug 25th 2011 5:14PM
Am i mistaken or does he just do the same thing as deathy... but looks a bit different? I ain't majorly fussed but still seems a bit poo, would be nice in the "waiting about for the 10 minutes for the raid healer to get off the toilet... I wish I could set fire to the mage" situations we all find our selves in. Please say this has some player interaction as opposed to waiting for that willy to spray his white stuff on a critter once in a blue moon

Blizz could do better, this is one murloc too many IMO.
AudreyR Aug 25th 2011 5:21PM
He'll be my first murloc pet. Not everyone can go to every Blizzcon or even buy the virtual ticket every year.
Cyno01 Aug 25th 2011 5:25PM
Considering there are zero murloc pets available in game, im ok with this.
Aenorn Aug 25th 2011 5:42PM
Murlocs have always been the theme of Blizzcon in-game items. That's just how it works.
Talmar Aug 26th 2011 8:35AM
I actually got a mount with my first virtual ticket. The Big Blizzard Bear. Of course it still has a murloc on it but still...it was a mount.

@jude There was one murloc pet made available in game. Murkimus.
My favorite Blizzcon exclusive is the Murloc suit.
Stephen Aug 26th 2011 1:05PM
Oops. @Cyno not Jude.
Goarther Aug 25th 2011 5:48PM
I cant wait to toast some gnomes with murkablo
AudreyR Aug 25th 2011 5:53PM
Now for the important question: Can you use yourself to cook after he's set you on fire?
Bryan Dare Aug 25th 2011 6:14PM
Well you would already be cooked, so why cook anything else? .... Gross. I apologize for that thought.
AudreyR Aug 25th 2011 6:26PM
You do bring up a good point. Never have this pet out around trolls.
Boydboyd Aug 25th 2011 5:56PM
The year it's time for my wife to get the BlizzCon pet, it's Murkablo, and she's not a Diablo player.
ZOMG MAYBE MURKABLO WILL CHANGE HER MIND ABOUT DIABLO!!1!
Blazing Rain Aug 25th 2011 5:56PM
I wonder who would win in a fight, Murkablo or Deathlock?
Marshal Aug 25th 2011 6:45PM
"DIRECTV customers who order the BlizzCon Pay Per View event will receive a code granting access to the Internet stream and the in-game gifts via email."
Oh thank god. No longer will I have to wait for the silly scratch card to arrive via mail.
tgrhwke Aug 25th 2011 7:23PM
The in-game pet code from the BlizzCon internet pay-per-view has always been given via an email. I've been doing the internet stream since it's been available and have never received my codes by regular mail on a card.
Marshal Aug 25th 2011 7:41PM
You're right, it has been. But not for us that order from Direct TV. Which is where my excitement about this piece is from. We've had to wait for a scratch card (same one give to those who attend Blizzcon itself) mailed to us from Direct TV.
Arrohon Aug 25th 2011 6:53PM
mmmrrrgggllllggrrggllllllll!!!!
