The Queue: So let's talk for a minute, East Coast ...
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.
Between the earthquake and the coming hurricane, I feel pretty bad for you, East Coast. I'm going to be sitting here in the midwest with some air conditioning and this new beauty over the weekend, watching you all on CNN and MSNBC.
Stay safe!
And bonus points if someone holds up a "Ghostcrawler promised me a hurricane" sign on a newscast (double bonus points if it makes it on Colbert or Stewart).
Knob asked:
If a feral druid transmogs a future staff into the model of Frandral's Flamescythe, will his cat form be a firecat or a normal one?
Normal. Mogging doesn't have anything to do with the game effects of the items, only the visual.
Tyler asked:
True or False: we'll be able to transmog PVP gear. I don't recall seeing that question answered....
True. Blizzard has said before that PVP will be moggable.
Devin asked:
Will the new raid finder include old raids like BT/MC/Ulduar despite being 85? I would hate to think that I can't run old content whenever I want to work on my "mogging" set.
Blizzard has said that the Raid Finder will function almost exactly like the random Dungeon Finder, and the Dungeon Finder doesn't let you queue for old instances -- I'd assume the same would be true for the Raid Finder, that older raids would not be queuable.
That being said, who knows? ... Blizzard could pretty easily change its mind here. It sure would be a great feature.
Neuro asked:
Any plans by WoW Insider to do a type of "Retro Raider" series of articles? I'm wondering if we couldn't get a series of articles describing how to go into the old instances and run them as a lvl 85.
Anne is going to be running a column on the different gear and tier sets available. That'll be starting today (theoretically). In there, Anne will cover some different retro raids, etc. A column dedicated to it isn't a bad idea, though; I'll see what we have the resources to do.
Vonster asked:
For Transmogrification, will there be ANY way to get the set the DK comes out of their starting zone with? Mine is long gone from my bank :(
Blizzard has said a few times now that it's looking into a way to resolve this. The devs know lots of people want the original DK set.

Every question was about transmogging. I'm a bit disappointed. Come on guys let's give them some better questions.
Knob Aug 25th 2011 11:23AM
Yeah, let's transmog some of the transmog questions into questions about JP and VP conversions! Those are old and evoke nostalgia.....well actually they evoke something other than nostalgia, but hey, can't have everything!

In fairness, Devin's question was about the raid finder. (Although he did include that getting old gear specifically for mogging purposes was why it's important to him.)
Grovinofdarkhour Aug 25th 2011 11:27AM
And Neuro's made no mention of mogging whatsoever. (Although it wouldn't be a stretch to guess that mogging might be the reason behind his question as well.)

I could talk about nearly being able to solo Heroic instances, if you like. That always makes people happy around here.
As a footnote: Nearly doesn't mean I can do it, but I can get through a lot of trash packs. Nearly is a relative term. Try not to spaz about it.

Technically, my question was about the new LFR, my concern for it was based around mogging but I am still the sole provider of variety. ;)

That Devin's a real maverick. A loose cannon. He doesn't play by the rules.
kevin.luang Aug 25th 2011 12:58PM
He's a loose cannon cop on the edge who doesn't play by the rules in 'Devin McCain - Loose cannon cop on the edge".

For the last time, the DK start zone set is avaialable in Naxxramas.
When DKs leveled up in Lich King and took on the first raid, we whined that the tier and/or off-set pieces looked exactly like the DK start zone set. Now we want it back? Sheesh!
EidlonImp Aug 25th 2011 4:35PM
Greg- the blue quality plate is, I think people (myself included) are referring to the green quality gear you get when you create a death knight. That kickin' robe ensemble.
I think I held on to mine up through 4.1, if I'd just been a tiny bit more hoardish...

It'd be quite easy to add those items to a vendor in Naxxramas and tie it to the last phase. They're BoP, anyway.
flawless Aug 25th 2011 10:07PM
Not Naxxramas -.- Acherus, sorry.

Stewart's on vacation this week, so I don't think anyone will get those points.
Lauyia Aug 25th 2011 11:39AM
just means you have to work harder for your points...

I'm looking into getting a smartphone with a data plan. I'll be limited to 2gb a month and while everyone has been telling me that will be more than enough I'm worried about going over. How much data usage does WoW Insider use?
RS Aug 25th 2011 11:16AM
not much at all.
I have the 2GB plan. I've used pandora, wowinsider...blah blah blah......on my commute (2hours a day, yeah it sucks a little)
I've never come close to my cap yet.
I wound't worry about it, unless you stream pandora 8 hours a day for the whole month.

Depends completely on how many pages you view and how often. As far as websites go, it doesn't use a lot in mobile mode.
I can usually check out a few articles and the comments and only rack up a few megabytes.
Sites like Cracked however...

Depends on your carrier. Verizon lets you get unlimited data for $20 a month, so you could take that route and not have to worry about it. I think AT&T has a similar deal.
MattKrotzer Aug 25th 2011 11:33AM
"Unlimited data" has a 2Gb limit, before you accrue extra charges.
I channel my inner Inigo Montoya whenever I go into the AT&T or Verizon stores.
"Have you heard about our Unlimited Data Plans, with unlimited minutes and unlimited texts?"
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
