The Queue: So let's talk for a minute, East Coast ...
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.
Between the earthquake and the coming hurricane, I feel pretty bad for you, East Coast. I'm going to be sitting here in the midwest with some air conditioning and this new beauty over the weekend, watching you all on CNN and MSNBC.
Stay safe!
And bonus points if someone holds up a "Ghostcrawler promised me a hurricane" sign on a newscast (double bonus points if it makes it on Colbert or Stewart).
Knob asked:
If a feral druid transmogs a future staff into the model of Frandral's Flamescythe, will his cat form be a firecat or a normal one?
Normal. Mogging doesn't have anything to do with the game effects of the items, only the visual.
Tyler asked:
True or False: we'll be able to transmog PVP gear. I don't recall seeing that question answered....
True. Blizzard has said before that PVP will be moggable.
Devin asked:
Will the new raid finder include old raids like BT/MC/Ulduar despite being 85? I would hate to think that I can't run old content whenever I want to work on my "mogging" set.
Blizzard has said that the Raid Finder will function almost exactly like the random Dungeon Finder, and the Dungeon Finder doesn't let you queue for old instances -- I'd assume the same would be true for the Raid Finder, that older raids would not be queuable.
That being said, who knows? ... Blizzard could pretty easily change its mind here. It sure would be a great feature.
Neuro asked:
Any plans by WoW Insider to do a type of "Retro Raider" series of articles? I'm wondering if we couldn't get a series of articles describing how to go into the old instances and run them as a lvl 85.
Anne is going to be running a column on the different gear and tier sets available. That'll be starting today (theoretically). In there, Anne will cover some different retro raids, etc. A column dedicated to it isn't a bad idea, though; I'll see what we have the resources to do.
Vonster asked:
For Transmogrification, will there be ANY way to get the set the DK comes out of their starting zone with? Mine is long gone from my bank :(
Blizzard has said a few times now that it's looking into a way to resolve this. The devs know lots of people want the original DK set.

Q for the Q:
With only one patch left in Cataclysm, it seems like a lot of plot points need to be addressed. For example, what's going to happen with the tension between Garrosh and Sylvannas? If this isn't taken care of by the end of the expansion, are we going to assume that we don't get Thrall back when this is all over?
Prances in Underpantss Aug 25th 2011 11:32AM
Garrosh may not last very long. Besides the tension between him and Sylvanas, Vol'jin wants to kill him and I'm pretty sure Baine isn't too happy with him either.
Either one of them will kill him, or he will realize how he has acted and make amends. I vote for death.

I'm surprised he's not at the brink of war with Bob in Silvermoon.
Oh, wait, that would require them to acknowledge the existence of a Blood Elf racial leader.
Ullaana Aug 25th 2011 11:44AM
As an Alliance player, I don't like Garrosh with one caveat; he slowly seems to be learning. I can see him realizing his mistakes and just giving the leadership back to Thrall, then remaining to learn more about being a GOOD leader.
Now, if we could get our vaunted Varian Wrynn to learn a few lessons, I might respect the jackhole.

Yes, I would like to see less people all being pushed to Stormwind and Orgrimmar. It would be cool to spread out. I think one of the coolest Capitals are Ironforge and Silvermoon. But they all are ghost towns now-a-days. It would be cool not to feel obligated and forced to all be in one spot.
On another note I would love to see Worgen and Goblins finally getting there Capital cities, and also After all the war and what not the Trolls and Gnomes get there Cities back and upgraded to Capitals.
Grovinofdarkhour Aug 25th 2011 11:50AM
Lest we forget, Garrosh was originally referred to as the "INTERIM Warchief".
I predict Thrall comes back and goes all Robespierre on the others. He just needed to go find his Balzac.
loop_not_defined Aug 25th 2011 11:55AM
Didn't Chris Metzen already say Thrall is coming back?

They will probably be douches like with cata and handle the most significant lore aspect since (I don't know what) out of game. They had a fine opportunity for players to experience the fight between Garrosh and Cairne. If anyone want's to say Blizzard is money hungry I will point to handling the lore aspects in books rather than in game, where it should be done. I mean even if they wanted to make a memorial to him that you could go up to and click on something to see it would have worked. Same goes for Magni. I mean, isn't anyone else still a little peeved over that?
loop_not_defined Aug 25th 2011 1:30PM
Noyou, Blizzard has been publishing books for the Warcraft franchise since before WoW. Hell, they started publishing books before Warcraft III.
No, I don't think they could've sufficiently repeated the Garrosh/Cairne fight in-game, especially after seeing the rather boring encounter between Garrosh and Thrall during the pre-Wrath event. Scripted combat between two NPCs can only do so much.
MisterRik Aug 25th 2011 2:37PM
@Ullaana - I'd just be happy to see Varian relax, instead of standing in his throne room "in combat". I mean, geez, who does that?
Arrohon Aug 25th 2011 10:49PM
Current relationships of Garrosh with Horde leaders:
Baine: Baine realizes that Garrosh didn't know the Gorehowl was poisons and that Cairne challenged Garrosh to begin with. However; Garrosh put Cairne in the position where he thought he needed to challenge him so they aren't going to be friends but they'll probably not ever be hostile towards each other.
Vol'jin: Since he said that he wanted to kill Garrosh he's calmed down and doesn't seem to think that way anymore. He's still not a fan of Garrosh but he's at least less hostile.
Sylvanas: Garrosh and that clever bitch still don't get along nor will they ever. I see it being more likely that Sylvanas will split from the Horde and either lose the Forsaken or take a portion of it with her than suddenly try to kill Garrosh. After the split (if it happens) then I can see her attacking him.... and every other living being.
Lor'themar: Who?
Gallywix: He fell into a hole and then his boots shot a rocket which then caused it to collapse so he's buried alive and missing. No one cares (especially Garrosh) so no search parties have been formed.

When i started my DK, i had so much bank space i decided to save both the first and second starter armors for RP fun (which never happened) and for fun.
I didn't knew they would be THAT desired. I look fine in my current lvl 80 outfit (save for the BS helm...maybe i'll try the helm from that set then).
I guess i had luck with it. ^^
Noyou Aug 25th 2011 12:06PM
Yes you are. I thought about saving it. Especially when it vends for copper. I probably even had the room to save it. But no. When I created my 2nd DK on another server I made sure not to trash it. Someone mentioned the first set of gear that you get. Personally, I think it looks like crap. The shoulders are ok though.
Spectres Aug 25th 2011 11:09AM
I'm going to hold up a sign that says "Ghost crawler, nerf Earthquake/Hurricane combo! PLZ K THX"
and I'm going to get my brother to stand next to me holding a sign that says "QQ more Virginia!"
Straz Aug 25th 2011 11:13AM
I saw someone in trade saying "I survived the cataclysm and all I got was this stupid earthquake" would be a great t-shirt.
Hal Aug 25th 2011 11:10AM
Retro-raiding seems like it might be best for each class column, as "extreme soloing" strategies are different for each class.
And if Ghostcrawler owes us anything out of this, it'll be:

Actually, I think I DO what those guys.

Please don't call it "mogging" sounds very very awful to the inner grammar nazi. transmogging is more acceptable. Thank you can good day.
Matthew Aug 25th 2011 11:33AM
You didn't capitalize the P in your second sentence.
Matthew Aug 25th 2011 11:34AM
LOL at me, I meant T. *giggle*
(PS I hope your realize I'm being silly not rude.)
joshychrist Aug 25th 2011 11:37AM
Keep in mind I did say INNER grammar nazi. :-p I try to keep that evil person as bay as much as possible. Some things such as "mogging" is unforgivable though.
