I can't be the only person who despises reading "moggable," "mogging," or "mogged." It... it... it's just so stupid.
8-25-2011 @ 11:16AM
Saying and typing a two-syllable word is easier than a five-syllable word:mog-ging vs. trans-mog-ri-fy-ingIn a world where people type something like "do u c y" instead of "do you see why," "mogging" is here to stay.

Your not the only one, they could have called it flaying or something better than they did.

Personnaly, i'm going to start referring to Transmogrifying as Trannying, and people who use it as Tranny's. "Hey check out that Tranny over there, sweet gear""I definitely think you should Tranny those pants""It feels weird running with all these Trannys"So much easier then Mogging, I personnaly am not a fan of Tranny's but know a lot of the people playing will be all about the Tranny's. The only real downside to Tranny's is they may look good from far, but when you get close to inspect them, you may be dissapointed by whats really under there cool looking gear.

I call it Calvining. Or Hobbsing. Depends on how catty I'm feeling.
8-25-2011 @ 11:40AM
TMGing my gear works for me.
8-25-2011 @ 11:44AM
Don't like the look of it? TransAm it (TM)!
8-25-2011 @ 11:53AM
I don't like any of them but TransAm or Transmo will work for me. Actually I will probably tell people to go "Change" it. And when they ask where I will say, "The change it dude, next to the void storage dude." Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!
Being a fan of the Final Fantasy series, I'm rather fond of the term "mogging". Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Hop in the transmogrifier and Spiff it!
8-25-2011 @ 12:29PM
Spiffing. I can't make it catch on by myself, folks.
8-25-2011 @ 12:33PM
@Cambro: I appreciate your efforts. :)
8-25-2011 @ 12:36PM
@robotdeathninja How about instead of that... we DON'T take an offensive term lobbed at the LGBT community to mean something "harmless" yet still mildly derogatory?
8-25-2011 @ 1:00PM
Spiffing...I can dig it.It works on many levels and doesn't sound like a word that was truncated for the hell of it.

@ Ellesmere.I agree. I'm calling it "Calvinizing" and I will be really disappointed if I don't get to climb into a cardboard-looking box that has a dial with a construction paper arrow on the front of it.
8-25-2011 @ 1:58PM
I call it masking.
8-25-2011 @ 2:34PM
The Blues have been using "Mogging", so your point is invalid. And your hair is a bird.I'll side with "Spiffing", for a few reasons.

When I hear Mogging I think of FFXI's Mog houses and then get confused because this is WoW and not FFXI. It just sounds like crossing game-specific lingo into other games. At least add trans in front to make it Transmogging so it doesn't sound so much like Mog from FFXI. Transmogging works for me. Transmogging and Transmoggers.

Personally, i'm bucking for "t-mog" - as in "I T-mogged my axe to look like Kang the Decapitator" or "Talk later, I'm t-mogging my gear right now", or "Yes, that gear has been t-mogged."
