As a paladin, I know I interrupt the adds too - shield and rebuke both work. However, I second the "single target them down" advice - I usually run this as prot so sometimes I have problems getting them down through the healing.

As a side note, once I ended up with 3 packs of the corehounds near the second boss, and it took me like 30 minutes to get them all down at once. Don't make my mistake!
