Phat Loot Phriday: Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle
Lolegolas didn't shake, shudder, or tremble as he slid his boots over his leg. He looked up as Throgg handed him a long, fierce rifle.
"What in the name of Moffat is that?" Lolegolas asked.
"Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle -- you get it from the Big Bad Wolf," Throgg replied. He stopped himself and looked at the Gilnean. "Sorry, no offense intended, Spot."
"None taken. And my name is Not Spot," the druid responded with a heavy sigh.
"That has always been my favorite gun," Lolegolas explained, "but it isn't useful nowadays. It just doesn't have the power."
"This news, my friend, is a little gift to you. Transmogrification is coming. You'll be able to make your gear look like other gear. Fashion matters again!"
Lolegolas clasped his hands together with a gasp. "You mean ... I don't have to wear the same clothes for an entire tier? My god, the money we'll save on Febreze alone!"

How to get it Kill the Big Bad Wolf in Karazhan. You may need to do it a few times so that you spawn the right opera encounter.
How to get rid of it You can sell it for 8 gold, 88 silver, 20 copper. But really, aren't you putting it in Void Storage so you can dress up all your guns to look like it?

Heh, maybe he was just startled at seeing it at first, and then he recognized it.
Blood elves are kind of absent-minded sometimes.

Covering old gear that's just plain awesome? I've liked this column for a while now, but . . . it just got a whole lot more interesting. =)

Yeah, Transmogrification has given this article a whole new level of importance. :)
Killik Aug 26th 2011 6:26PM
Wow, yeah. I just realised with transmogrification, this could become my new favourite column!

+1 right here. I look forward to resubbing next week to start going after the Quickening Blade of the Prince from MT. :D
Fletcher Aug 27th 2011 2:54AM
DonNochay: Temporus in Black Morass drops the Millennium Blade, which uses the same model. But MgT is *much* less annoying than Black Morass.
Amanda A. Aug 28th 2011 1:12AM
@Fletcher: The Quickening Blade is better, though. It sheaths to the back.

Man, still sore my Hunter never got that to drop back in the day 'cuz of stupid Oz. Suppose now that she can probably solo it, I should go back and try again, but who knows how long it'd take for it to drop. >:|

I'm on my third go around for thing.
Got it once, then upgraded to the Phoenix Bow.
Then realized that BM was king and Wolfslayer was best in slot pre tier 6 and had to farm and farm and farm....
Now I have to do it all again =(

You know, I always preferred the ol' classic double-barreled shotgun. I still keep one in my bank, probably been in there for 5 years.

Double barreled rifle beats your silly shotgun!

@Natsumi - After spending 6 months running Kara and never once seeing Oz, I know better than to count on Kara cooperating in any way, so I didn't have my heart set on this gun. ;) I didn't play my hunter much in BC, but I had fond memories of the Wrathfire Hand-Cannon, and a bow made out of manta rays seems really appropriate for a Bloodsail Admiral. Thanks for the links, all of those are great!

Doh, reply-fail, meant to go in the thread below.
MusedMoose Aug 26th 2011 6:25PM
.......wow. It's like someone combined a revolver, a sniper rifle, and a double-barreled shotgun into one weapon. I must have this. ^_^
Zal Aug 26th 2011 6:40PM
Don't forget a wicked looking bayonet!
Maribel Aug 26th 2011 8:52PM
I think I may need to start a ranged collection for my hunter. Rhok'delar's nice and all, but so is variety.
Natsumi Aug 27th 2011 8:46AM
@Maribel
BC had about 20 great models for ranged weapons so it's going to be very hard for me to decide what to use on my hunter.
3 of my Favorites are (see pics for clarification):
The Steve Irwin Special: http://www.wowhead.com/item=29351#comments
The Hand Cannon: http://www.wowhead.com/item=27794
The Stubby Shotgun: http://www.wowhead.com/item=32325
All have cool UNIQUE models that are honestly better than 90% of the gear offered in Wrath or Cata. Just remember, if you want to be different, find another cool model, as I'm sure that 90% of Hunters will be running around with Black Bow of the Betrayer or Wolf Slayer Sniper Rifle, the models defined the class back in BC.

Wonderful, I forgot how awesome this gun looks. I just did Kara to try and get the tier tokens for my hunter and the matching gear for the Demon Stalker set. I may also do naxx for the stalker set as well. This will be awesome for those times a gun is the better stat of ranged weapons and I want something that doesn't glow in the dark. Next, Legacy baby! I want that axe back!
