I think that it may have been better for the article to fixate on this concept a bit more, but at the same time I think it's semi-obvious that if your dps are each dealing 1% less than the previous best, that you're fine. But if you've got a pack of dps doing around the same amount (in the +-5% range) and then one guy lagging 10 to 15% behind, that when you start looking at him.But even then, if you're not wiping, you can probably shrug it off. It's only when you're having issues that you really need to start looking at who is lagging behind the rest and put a boot on their but to get them up where they ought to be. I believe this article assumes that you'll have the wisdom as a leader to use multiple instances of inappropriately low dps (eg: not comparing interrupters on Alys with flyers or 1000% buffed tanks) to pick out that someone is a problem, and is more targeted on reinforcing that you Need to do something about it, even if it makes you feel like you're being mean.
