The Queue: Adam Jensen is easily offended
I've been playing a lot of Deus Ex: Human Revolution lately, and I like it quite a bit, but I think I play Adam Jensen as a little more easygoing than in the video above. Be sure to check out all of the videos in that series.
Vaenor asked:
With only one patch left in Cataclysm, it seems like a lot of plot points need to be addressed. For example, what's going to happen with the tension between Garrosh and Sylvannas? If this isn't taken care of by the end of the expansion, are we going to assume that we don't get Thrall back when this is all over?
While Blizzard has a habit of introducing and instantly wrapping up plot lines, it doesn't necessarily mean that this particular story will wrap up in Cataclysm. After all, Garrosh was introduced in The Burning Crusade. We'll definitely see more political and social changes within both factions in the next expansion, but there's no guarantee that Thrall will be back as Warchief as of 4.3.
jfofla asked:
Are there any websites that let you model old gear on your character?
Not on your particular character, but Wowhead lets you view any item on the race/gender of your choice.
AdamAldaine asked:
Blizzard allows us to hide Helms and Cloaks. I've always assumed this is because some of them are butt-ugly, but is there a game-play reason for this, and for why those two things were specifically chosen instead of slots for other things, such as the hideous Champion Herrod's Shoulder?
Helms are able to be hidden because some people are more attached to their character's face than to the helmet that covers it. Cloaks obscure the back of the body, so they're also able to be hidden.
Theduck asked:
What enchant effect, if any, will be shown on a mogged item? The equipped item's enchant? The mogged item's enchant? In the case of a void storage item, no enchant at all? I've looked all over but haven't seen any information on this, anyone have any idea?
To use an example: Let's say you have two daggers. One of them is the Scaleslicer, which has a sort of fire effect on it, and is enchanted with Landslide. The other is a Core Hound Tooth, unenchanted.
If you transmogrify the Core Hound Tooth to look like your Scaleslicer, the equipped dagger will have the Landslide visual and the fiery particle effect. If you reverse it and make the Scaleslicer look like the Core Hound Tooth, the Landslide visual effect will persist, but the fiery particle effect will not.
EDIT: Apparently this answer is wrong and no effects from the template weapon will appear on the equipped weapon. Sorry for the confusion!
Surgeon asked:
What exactly is the purpose of "You have entered too many instances lately?" 'Cause I gotta say it's really annoying to get to that point when you're trying to farm for gear for Transmogrifying.
It's intended to reduce stress on the instance servers, but, long ago, it also served to prevent botters and hackers from chain-farming chests in instances.
Scott asked:
Why (oh, why) isn't Furrier Schnottz the final raid boss of Cataclysm?
Because Schnottz, like nearly the entirety of Uldum, is a lazy reference that actively detracts from the quality of the game it's now unfortunately a permanent part of.

Thoroughly, but concisely answered batch of questions, Mr. Sacco.
Well played.

Also, for those of you who were asking me to put an updated picture on here since losing almost 35 pounds... mission accomplished.
Enjoy!
(cutaia) Aug 26th 2011 3:36PM
Hey, my head's lost at least 5 pounds, but you don't see me changing *my* picture.
Shinae Aug 26th 2011 3:43PM
Grats! :D
But still, no smile? :(
MattKrotzer Aug 26th 2011 3:46PM
I AM smiling!!
Go to my twitter page and look at the larger image.
Matthew Aug 26th 2011 3:50PM
Gratz on the weight loss! what was your strategy?
Al Aug 26th 2011 3:52PM
As a floating head, you'd have to wait for someone to wander past and do it for you.

Weight Watchers.
I'd tried it years ago, and found it far too restrictive. Since they remodeled their program to the Points Plus System, it's so much more accessible. I can still eat things I like, provided I actually keep watch on the amount I eat.
The wife and I picked up a digital food scale at Target for $15, which made everything incredibly easy.
On top of that, WW has done a great job of developing recipes that are healthy and incredibly tasty, as well. In particular, we make use of the Wild Mushroom Risotto with Chicken recipe.
Good grief... I feel like an infomercial every time someone asks me about it, but I really couldn't be happier with how it's going. 18 more pounds, and I'll be back to the weight I was in high school.

Losing 35 pounds is easy. Changing you Joystiq avatar is the hard part!

"Because Schnottz, like nearly the entirety of Uldum, is a lazy reference that actively detracts from the quality of the game it's now unfortunately a permanent part of."
Excuse me but the Indiana Jones references made it bearable to even get to 85.
MattKrotzer Aug 26th 2011 11:09AM
I feel like I say this a lot around here...
Different people like different stuff.
Moobs Aug 26th 2011 11:14AM
I made it to 85 on 5 toons so far with out going to Uldum.
I have gone back each tiem to complete all the quest for each zone for the gold and I have to agree that Uldum is very annoying to play through!
ravyncat Aug 26th 2011 11:19AM
Uldum is my favorite Cataclysm zone mostly because of all the Indiana Jones references.
I don't really care about the cat people there.
But yeah, different people like different things and I am totally cool with that.
HappyTreeDance Aug 26th 2011 11:21AM
To each their own. :)
Personally I hated Uldum and the Indiana Jones references. And I say this as someone who loves Indiana Jones and who has had a crush on Harrison Ford since she saw him in Star Wars when she was just a little kid.
I didn't mind the Harrison Jones stuff when it was a tiny part of the game, like a quest here or there. But having more than half of Uldum dedicated to him? No thanks. Especially when the actual lore of the zone could have been so good! The Titan stuff has always interested me. This is why I liked zones like Storm Peaks in Wrath, and why Ulduar is one of my favorite raids. And the Ramkahen and Al'Akir are interesting to me too.
I just think it's a pity that all of the stuff that actually progresses the storyline of WoW got overshadowed by one long (long, long, long) pop culture reference. In moderation, those references are fine. For me in Uldum, they overdid it by a lot.
Bynde Aug 26th 2011 11:23AM
I'd happily do Uldum 100 times in a pink sundress and 50% nerf to my run/mount speed with a painful blister on my mouse hand, than ever go to Vash again.
But, Different things like different people. Or something.
Darias.Perenolde Aug 26th 2011 11:23AM
@Whitfield: I'm with you man. Personally, I'm a HUGE Indy fan and loved every last side reference to the Indy universe. I rofled throughout the entire zone.
Grovinofdarkhour Aug 26th 2011 11:27AM
I don't know what you people have against Indiana Jones. Sure, we all agree they shouldn't have pulled a Rocky and tried to milk a dead cow by tacking on his own "I'm too old for this stuff" movie years after the fact. But still. I mean, c'mon. He's Indy.
Dun-da-dun-DUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
Grovinofdarkhour Aug 26th 2011 11:33AM
And yeah, I like Uldum, and yeah, I dig the cat people and really hope I get to roll one someday.
And let's face it... no one can hold a candle to Vashj'ir in the zones-people-can't-freakin-stand department.
jfofla Aug 26th 2011 11:37AM
I LOVED the Harrison Jones quests and cut scenes.
loop_not_defined Aug 26th 2011 11:38AM
I'm not really sure there could've been much lore about the Ramkahen. Their whole story is that they've been minding their own business for the last tens or hundreds of millennia, and only now have to deal with problems because the Cataclysm cracked their cloaker. Blizzard probably could've brought some Alliance vs. Horde stuff into it, but that's about all.
I wonder if part of the problem is that the five zones are under heavy expectations because...well, there's just five of them, two of which share the same level range.
