One thing I'm wanting to point out on Monday's The Queue for everybody excited about Transmogrification, and which I'm sure many will consider taking advantage of with Warriors and Paladins:It will be possible to downgrade from Plate to Mail, Leather, or Cloth in most circumstances without taking too much of a hit in DPS. I wouldn't recommend this for PUGs, progression Raids, or Arena/Rated Battlegrounds, though. Probably just casual grouping with friends, normal Battlegrounds, or soloing. For example, if you want to wear a robe with your Warrior without screwing up your DPS too much, you can try acquiring a high-level DPS Robe (BoE on the AH...or BoP as long as others are cool with it) and then xmogging that with the robe you like. You'll only be losing one stat - Intellect - while all the others would be stats you'd normally use.

Is the 5% strength bonus worth losing just for vanity? If you want to wear non-plate then just wear the actual items outside of combat.

As I said, I only suggest it for situations where maximum performance isn't critical. Also, wearing the actual item itself means giving up hundreds of points in other DPS stats, which just isn't necessary - especially if:1) ...you're going for a Leather or Mail look, which would still grant plenty of crit through Agility.2) ...you can easily pick up high-level BoEs off the AH for this purpose.

Just looking at the combat ratings on EJ. You need 243.6 agility for 1% crit. 378 gear has 368 agility for example, which is approximately 1.6% crit. You'll lose 368 str, say, and your 5% armor str bonus. Plus the BoK str part. From a rough guess I'd say you'll be 10-15% less effective. The price of fashion, eh?

I know this is a bit late, but according to Mr. Robot, the loss of +Strength from a single item came out to about a 1% DPS drop. So it's probably closer to a 6% loss, since BoK in the situations I suggested isn't really guaranteed. That's with Cloth, mind you. So this is replacing Strength with a completely useless stat, not Agility.

Actually, I'm wrong. Losing 5% Strength is not losing 5% DPS.

Doing some rough calculations, losing 5% Strength seems to be roughly a 3.3% DPS loss. So total, it's around 4.3% DPS loss to swap a single Strength item with a single Intellect item.
