Awesome, 70-80 with just the Borean Tundra achievement. Just in time to get wiped by Cata zone mobs because youre wearing level 71 blues.

You can pick up a full set of uncommon armor for like 200g almost anywhere or have it crafted.

nah, you get fully kitted out in the first few quests in cata zones, and the mobs there hit like kittens.its really not a problem.

Most comments thus far are what I expected - whining, moaning, complaining, NURR THE CASUALS.But this? Yeah. It's surely not a universal experience, but I for one got stomped by Hyjal mobs even when I was wearing blues and greens from Sholozar and Ice Crown questing - it was about 100 ilevels of difference for nearly every slot, and until it occurred to me to just buy cataclysm level 80 greens, it was goddamn miserable. Seriously, look up any average quest from Ice Crown - you'll be wearing a 160-170 green or blue ... and as soon as you get to Hyjal, the mobs are dropping 290 greens. Three or four of these greens meant the difference between regular play and "OH NO, I PULLED A SECOND MOB aaaaaand I'm dead already."So I guess it'll be the same setup, except now you might need to stock up on more AH greens for more slots than before (and my 2-shot deaths without proper gear will be even more hilarious).

To be clear, I don't think it's a big deal, I just think it's funny. It's a little odd that I find myself searching for 78-80 Cata greens for my alts when their time is coming around, but nothing short of a Northrend quest redesign could fix this, and I'm gonna go ahead and vote "not worth it." Someday, but not for a long while.

One of the best ways to avoid it, if you're into this sort of thing, is ding 66 or so, do a bit of PvP 'til you've got enough honor for a nice, comfortable set of 70 PvP gear (takes... 2k? Maybe less than that), and voila. All the sudden you have gear that is better than anything you'll get from Northrend quests, and will keep you with a nice-enough buffer to get you through the first bit of the Hyjal quests.

What Kahn said is exactly right. My 77 prot pally got the full set of lvl 70 PvP epic gear and has only replaced 2 of the items so far. They last a very long time.

Seconding Kravos--my lv80 worgen with an iLevel around 175 got stomped horribly in Vash and after about my 8th corpse run I said "Screw it" and moved on over to Hyjal, where the questing wasn't quite so punishing.I was especially ticked that the quest-givers in Vash kept offering gold as a reward when what we all want is GEAR, dammit! What do I look like, a friggin' mercenary?
